Another one of these "too much dlc" posts. Play it or don't, why make a number of it. There's plenty of games to play.
Just look up a guide for what DLC to buy dude. There's a lot of DLC but none of them are mandatory.
Buy the subscription, get your fill within a month, then cancel.

It should get pointed out. Ignoring issues is how we got garbage like microtransactions in the first place. Paradox DLC quality is like a seesaw at this point. There are still unsolved issues from tours and tournaments.
There are only a few dlc that improve the gameplay, these are def worth it. no one forces you to buy the cosmetic ones xd

Complaining about something like DLc or microtransactions doesn't achieve anything. Not buying does. You just don't give them your money and move on, easy. If you buy something you end up not wanting, lesson learned. if you keep doing that, then it's your fault.

And how will others know that the dlc is not worth it and they shouldn't buy it?

By talking about it.

If you keep seeing that discussion means that it continues being a problem and people don't know the DLC are awful before they buy.
how about years of free DLC sized updates?

Including stuff becoming free like adventures, one of most potentially influential concepts in the franchise.

remember, many DLC focus on thing that you actively have to pursue. So unless you like certain gimmick's or playstyles, you don't need DLC.

by the end of the year, you will have a full exon and building revamp, to add more depth and less positive econ play. That will be FREE.

You got the other half of the world FREE. You can even play those countries with the base governments.

You only actually need Roads and Tours. Wards and Friends can make for a better RPG experience but you don't NEED them. Legends and Royal Court are nice to haves.

Everything else is not important at all and mods like the Community Flavour Pack can give you loads of character decorations anyway. Other mods like Debutants and Congenital Beauty are very good as well.

You overestimate how many people actually care about Paradox DLC practices. Certainly very few people here. You're just a casual window shopper that hasn't said anything that hasn't already been said before by thousands of people that never cared about Paradox games in the first place, outside of the whining you read on reddit. If you wanted to play the game, you would buy it and play it. Anything else is just noise.
If you're coming in late to a paradox game and/or don't intend to play it much, I think you should stick with the subscription system. If you intend to buy avoid full-price, wait for a sale. There's buy guides.

The catch is this: If you intend to use the subscription you need to stick with it. Otherwise you'll end up wasting money on having a DLC but not enough & still buying the subscription which includes all of them.

I do this with Hearts of Iron for example while getting CK3 DLC.

Just no lol, the subscription is a foolish choice. I just hate the idea of a subscription for one game. £8.50 every month .... that's £100 a year !!!

Just get a couple of the important dlc and dont get anything else, then you can play the game without worrying about wasting money every month.

I am sure most people who get the subscription forget they are paying out regularly and waste far more than they would have just buying the dlc. I mean 90% of the dlc in this game are completely unnecessary.

If you are going to get the subscription, cancel it immediately, and renew it every month to avoid wasting your money. But I just hate the idea of a subscription for one game. It wouldnt even be worth it for all the dlc for all the Paradox games. I mean £8.50 every month .... that's £100 a year !!!

Obviously subscription is bad if you use it an entire year and accidentally auto renew like a dumbass. That's literally the scenario I'm describing where you then buy the DLC. Slowly.

But I wouldn't say you can avoid 90%. RtP, T&T, Khans, AUH, Royal Court, W&W, Wandering Nobles I think are all worth a serious look. Maybe even BGA (not familiar enough with its mechanics versus what it adds...when playing secular).

Either way: you have to commit. Buy DLC (sales) or subscription. Not both. Former is better if you intend to play a lot and use sales. Latter is better if you aren't foolish & won't play consistently.

Lazy math is 'Will I buy <15 subscriptions over the entire lifespan of me having this game or should I buy core/main/maybe regional DLCs at half-price'
