I put in MI 1 because I don't mind the lock pick / hack minigames. I just hated the swap cards minigame.
IMO you have 8 cards worth your time to take
IDEALLY you either run +30 special and a TON of perk cards or +20 special and taking one + follow through for solo slaughtering
SPE IAL (not C, charisma is intentionally bugged/broken and doesn't work for sharing cards... wish I knew that before maxing it, but I've got 800 coins sitting around so )
I typically run with +30 special stats and thus I have a TON of versatility in my build (but easily +15-20 is enough, not being able to share 3* cards because bethesda made yet another boneheaded decision is mildly annoying)
Taking one for the team (utterly and completely the best damage perk in the game - increases all damage by 1.5x for your team (and possibly any other player in events) for anything that is attacking you... damage increase lasts until the enemy switches targets (and up to ~5-10s after that while the server figures out)
Follow Through (not great really, I maxed it too, its only good vs the "uber" bosses and ONLY if you somehow manage to be the first person to land the hit in your team OR you are doing them solo... in which case its a 1.5x damage increase for ~40s - 60s - 80s or so depending on the servers feelings on it
Others you can debate
Ammo Factory - unnecessary bonus to getting ammo, unnecessary because by the time you get this you SHOULD be swimming in 100,000's of rounds of ammo... Still ammo = caps / flux so the argument can be made that this is a good investment from a TRADING angle
Funky Duds - Boosts poison resist, one of the few threats to bloodied builds, granted its not necessary as a single stimpack taken in the 10s or so time you get his by poison will effectively do the same thing... PLUS if you want you can get +125 from armour which isn't too far off the +200 from this... IMO another skill is better
Hack and Slash - On melee this can actually be quite effective, I've seen guys in radiation rumble hold 20% of what a guy with a gun can do in the same timeframe (which is impressive as melee is terrible)
People think so but they are wrong...
Sizzling Style - +200 fire resist, but considering that 3 points in fireproof is better for 45% less damage (essentially fire immune) + explosion damage this is kind of a I want to be utterly immortal to rare RARE effects... Yeah you can't really get fire resist from other sources, but its also such a rare damage attack that it just not worth the slot... Enemy molotovs can be quite damaging on the RARE occasion they throw them
What Rads? - +300 rad resist but rad resist caps off REALLY quickly and easily, the only way to be rad immune is with a radiation suit (ideally chinese stealth) otherwise even a hundred thousand rad resist will make you take 14.5 radiation vs 15 at a few hundred... so this is essentially useless
You might want to reread my post so you don't look uninformed.
legendary perks are "part of your characters DNA" they can't be changed at the push of a button you need to expect perk coins to change them
its pretty simple dont take people ♥♥♥♥
IMO lockpicking and hacking is great for when you are resource poor. This is because there simply isn't much of value to hidden behind locks and passwords and what is there becomes less valuable the more stuff you have. But this is only really the case with a new character, so it really only has value to your second and subsequent characters - by the time your first character can pick it they don't really need lockpicking or hacking unless you are roleplaying.
But IMO in this specific instance it is better to fill one Legendary Perk slot with a single star Master Infiltrator (no more than that one star is needed) than it is to waste all those regular perk points on all those locking picking and hacking skills.
Yes if you are a hardcore player looking for the best damage best defense build then yeah, skip the comfort perks. If you don't care and just play casual then you'll be just fine. Don't expect to solo everything but just grinding dailies it's perfectly fine. Shhhhh... I even roll with the ammo Legendary on as well. I've soloed the nuke bunkers three times without too much trouble.
True enough on a point to point comparison but not really the way I look at it. MI gives sort of the equivalent 6 total points of abilities, but hard set to skills I rarely use instead of 5 points to skills I use every time I fire my gun.
At this point in the game I still play every day but will frequently have days where I never pick a lock or hack a terminal. Those "6 points" are effectively useless to me because, as a poster above pointed out, the rewards behind them are negligible.
Certainly a really nice QOL perk, no doubt about it.
It's also easy to avoid lockpicking a players stuff if you can control your fingers.
And most players with that WANTED tag just want to have some fun so after someone kills them it goes away. But a few will go all JOKER looking to follow you and maybe blow up your base. But those players are very rare now since Bethesda nerfed world pvp so hard. Plus its so easy to change servers and avoid them.
edit: oh and some of those WANTED players are noobs who will scream bloody murder after you kill them and take that dropped junk like its the end of the world or something.
edit 2: And never wasting another minute lockpicking anything for better loot is a good thing, especially when your level 300+ and everything in game is a joke to kill.
Good luck
