Why do the mods get scrapped with "T" Scrap All?

I've seen some posts from 5 years ago, people flaming about this.
It is actually outrages though; mods having their own category but being scrapped along with junks and they're only giving steel and wood!

Bethesda should do something about this, either remove them from junk category or at least give some precious materials back when scrapping mods.

Because you come across some loose rare mods around the worlds hoping to utilise them at camp, only to find out that they're scrapped when you tried to lower your total weight.

How are you people dealing with this, any tips or way of doing things that you can suggest?

Box mods do not auto scrap. You have to choose to scrap them.

Mods go into regular stash box when storing scrap, maybe they are in there.

Go to you stash box and go through everything in it and everyone in your own inventory.
Things that do not get auto scrapped when you scrap everything should be placed in your camp storage.

at least mine did last night. I lost none of them when i did that.

This. When you use store all junk-command it drops everything in mods tab too. I'm 100% sure OP's mods are in their stash.

They're not but since all of you say they're not auto scrapped, I must have scrapped them with space while doing guns and armor.
