Whats the point of emotes if emotes literally cancel themselves instantly for no reason?

Title. Most of the time when i want to use emote the character starts doing it but instantly it cancels.
Out and inside armor. Sometimes it works, but rarely. Doesnt work even if i freshly start the game and load on a server.

They only "cancel" when you start moving. If you hit the emote and immediately move, the icon will still stay for a bit.

No really? Im standing still, clicking on emote and he starts doing something and instantly stops. Not moving, not touching anything. I just loaded into a new server, was out of team, used emote just fine and after joining a team i could no longer use it.

Hmmm.... not sure what that would be. I haven't personally had issues but I've also never tried them in a team setting.

Would it be possible that some mods are somehow conflicting with it? I have two. One boosts performance a little and the other is basically fancy map.

yep, it's happening to me too, after sometime playing in the same server, just another bug to the pile of bugs, if I quit and come back it start working again!

I'm on keyboard/mouse.
(this morning) I noticed a bunch of the "invisible hit" hitching that happens sometimes when switching cells or due to lag - but there was no hitch, just a silent hit with no impact. I wasn't emoting at the time but I'm 99% sure it would have killed an emote had I been using one.

*New for me; three silent hits in a row, double checked my buffs and food level were all still going. Could have been lunchboxes expiring but otherwise I'm at a loss. My guess is it's lag related.

It auto cancels itself without me doing anything. Both mouse and keyboard are newer. Especially mouse. Sometimes it just works and most of the time it doesnt.

Somone at the brain trust of Bethesda got the idea emotes were only for photomode.

I am not having this problem at all. Ever. That suggests the problem is not universal. It may have something to do with a particular piece of hardware, or even something specific to you.
