It still worth buying this game in 2024?
Hi. I never played all Fallout games. But I tried them Fallout 4 and 76 for free thanks to PS Plus, the Netflix copy lol. Fallout 4 is cool to play singleplayer and downloading mods, but sometimes I get bore because I don't know what to do. Fallout 76 is cool to play multiplayer and interact with players and events, but sometimes I get bore too because I can only explore around, I don't know what to do and I should give up at modding... But I feel I want to play this game but I don't know... So, it still worth buying this game in 2024? And how the game state is? Good?

I only started playing about a month or so ago, but it seems as though the game is doing pretty good in terms of player count.

I think part of the problem you're having is that these games (the 3D Fallout/Elder Scrolls games) were initially designed for open world exploration. You just kind of go in a random direction and you find stuff to do. There's usually a main questline, but there's never any rush to complete it. In other words, "I don't know what to do" is kind of the point of the game. 76 is only slightly different in that it's designed to be a continuous live service game, which means the main questline is even less important than normal in a Bethesda RPG.

I think it's worth buying the game on a discount, but YMMV.

buy it on a discount from other sources. or wait a sale, which you missed,so next one is not very soon. and the next season is around next month (basically less predatory battlepass)

dont want to spoil, but end game is kinda weird one in term of storage pushing you to buy f76 1st the more you play, because storage space is finite and resource consumption rise with crafting/base building/ammo making so you will just hit the wall and basically forced to get subscription for infinity ammo/resource storage. some will tell you "but you can without..." yea,you can also just eat cockroaches instead of actual food, but i dont see anyone doing that.

I would say it is still worth a try. I've recently returned playing and with the coming expansion, it will give some more lifeline to the game. If you like scifi, I might recommend looking up Starsector. It is a openworld sandbox kind of game, not really anything like fallout. In fact it is a 2d game, but surprisingly good.

I came back and I've been having fun. There have been lots of old and new players. I'm not having any problem making lots of Caps selling stuff in my vendor. In fact i go around spending 10K or so every couple of days just to make room for more selling. Cap limit is now 40,000 ... at least they raised it some.

But without 1st the storage issues are worse and they are selling lots of FOMO CAMP items that are definitely p2w. Most can be earned ingame behind a grind ... but not all things can be earned this way.

There are still lots of bugs and issues, more for some than others, and the story writing is well ... meh. lol. But the pretty lights, costumes and explosions is fun.

If you're not a fan of the Fallout universe, you may choose to wait and see.
