he says that for ballistic weapons 2-shot is crap,
but energy wepons benefit from 2-shot.
From my view 2-shot expl. ballistics still rock in VATS, but fail outside of VATS
This might be changed, also Armor of the target and the perk "Stabilzed" (only heavy Guns in PA) have influence.
Edit: I overlooked that you want specificly a "Gatling Gun": don't go for 2-shot, fun but almost impossible to hit things in a distance.

I think i agree to this. the spread of two shot makes it less worth it over a distance, lets say for when fighting SBQ
As the others say, anti armor is awesome if your enemy have huge armor, like the bosses, but with enemies without armor, you will make less dmg compared to other suffixes...
AAE should be superior in every scenario except for crowd control where you have a bunch of lightly armored enemies.
I have to come back to this:
I'm a huge fan of the Gatling Gun but wouldn't waste any sdrip on it.
That's like getting the best version of a 1969 VW-Van: cool, but there are better options.
Tesla for mobbing/ Events, Plasma or Laser-Gatling for the bosses Fixer for sneak missions, Plasma -Gun with flamer barrel for short range-high damage or maybe a chainsaw.
Though Ammo consumption and repairs could be an issue (that is where the gatling Gun shines) you get better DPS, more XP and loot.
However, on the long run your scrips might be better invested in Secret-Service Armor or Power Armor of your choice.
A TSE Gatling Gun does more Raw damage than an Anti Armor does.
ALL Two Shot guns suffer from lower accuracy numbers than other prefixes of the same gun type.
Anti Armor is usually most often used for and benefits PvP players. With NPC's a TSE will do faster and more damage than an Anti Armor will outside of Vats.
There's only(I think) 4 mods for the Gatling Gun.
***Until it someday gets patched out, Spamming your right mouse(Aim) button increases the firing rate of the Gatling Gun by a huge amount.***
With all that said, I suggest you at least try a TSE for combat that is less that 100 feet away from you. "Trash" mobs will go down faster with a TSE.
Lastly, I suggest trying out Railway Rifles. Overall they fair better than Gatling Guns do.
Personally, I'm hooked on TSE .50 cals.
