CAMP location for beginner
What would be the best place for a beginner to set a CAMP? From what I understand players can move CAMP to other locations.
Watched some youtube videos with best places but those places seem to be inhabited by high lvl mutants.
Thought about setting a CAMP at Golf course, since I love golf, but not sure if the place is good for a beginner or if it has some nice view (to see nuke explosions all over the map etc).
Thank you for your answers

There is a zone in the forest region that is nuke free. Maps are online. I placed my camp on a stream where there are a couple of different plants I need to make disease cures. I only have to travel down stream a little to get bloodleaf to complete that recipe as well as growing the plants for a couple of regen AP and regen HP foods. You can collect water from a stream as fast as you can spam the R key. The hand pump has a long timer and is much slower to collect dirty water for cooking. Water purifier needs to be placed in water so there is that, too. I have had three of four camp locations and every one got attacked by something. Right now at L99 it seems to be mostly super mutants and protectrons with scorched and ferals for variety. If you have turrets, dead attackers are a decent source of ammo, scrap, and scrappable weapons if you don't mind making repairs every few days. Lots of people seem to move camp as they explore different areas. I made a home and commute to do quests, explore and grind. As a beginner I would not put a camp outside the forest region, too often I have seen Windigo, Scorchbeasts, Snallygasters etc attacking camps in the East and South regions. Attackers seem to show up when I fast travel to my camp, I would not want to come home after a long day grinding screws and lead to find a Legendary Mirelurk Queen attacking my camp. Hope this helps. I am sure other people will chime in with some suggestions as well.

Keep it in an area with some farming elemets you often need. Maybe water, ore or ingredients for favorite Buffood. And finally near a Vendor station to safe your bucks for other things.

All in all you might not ask. Just follow you intention. That game is much as try and error

Either chose a spot on the creek/river the runs behind the Wayward or chose one of the areas near a pond there.

Myself I chose the pond between the lumber mill and farm on the way to the Wayward for my first home.

if you mean with "golf course" the whitespring golf club than yeah, you will be able to see nukes sometimes from a "very near perspective" it will nearly feel as if the droped the bomb at your camp. your house and installments will even look like they seen a nuke from very near as well

You can move your camp to other locations.

Set it up near your current farming locations. Where ever near Morgantown is decent early on.

Do the quest to get access to a Shelter:

Toss all your Workbenches and what ever in the Shelter. Camp structures don't move very well, so I wouldn't set up much until you've found a long term location. However, anything in the Shelter stays and Shelters are easy to move.

Near railroad stations (for the vendor bot) are my fav place. Lots of players tend to stroll by, and easy no-cost fast travel to sell your daily lootz.

Place it somewhere where you have easy access to resources like food and water. bonus if its something related to crafting.

I hope you mean the other golf course. Cause repairs cost resources. I have seen the bomb drop. I died. Power armor notwithstanding.

also remember that the "best places" have a big problem: many ppl want them.
so when you camp stands on a favourite spot you can take it as a given that you need 3-5 sever jumps until you dont get the message " your campspot is taken"
can get really anoying at some spots wheen you still stay and look who build what on your turf and than realise they camped there more by mistake, becasue they dont exploit resources the place is most wanted for.

For me the best place was where no one else wanted to have a C.A.M.P.
This way I had no issues most days when I logged in.
For you as a beginner near your mission hub so its almost central to all your mission locations and most of the map, sort of. But try to pick a spot others don't wan't a base so you have an easier time logging on without the camp spot taken warning.
