as mentioined above no one knows their actual goals or what they are doing in the fallout 3 dlc they have made humans cross with the zetans but i cant remember if thats the only time they pop up.
terrible aliens LOL
And some of the weirder human tech might be based on their tech.
I always find that monster to be really strange, at first I thought it was some sort of rogue robot like that imposter sheepsquatch assaultron, but then I take a closer look and it does not look like any robot nor even look like robot at all xD.
I thought that it was just a refer to real folklore in West Virginia...
This is what I love in Fallout universe, they try to connect the real folklore to this Fallout world in a very creative way, for example; Monongah mine that we need to nuke for Earl was a real place with a real legend of ghost folklore within that mine, the screaming voice. There was an accident back in 1907, more than 350 miners died inside, if you join the event and read Earl note, he also said that he heard strange "miners" voice and mine sound eventhough everybody dead and mention the accident in 1907 as well. So Fallout put the monster wendigo colossus there, because it represent the screaming sound that people used to hear.
Flatwood monster also a real folklore there, which people believe to be alien after their saw the strange light "bright object crossing the night sky" in 1952 right after this incident, some people in Flatwood saw the tall grey looking monster with a bright color eyes, so Fallout here put it in as the alien.
Not to mention the Mothman. :P
It was fun stuff, mainly jsut more whacky stuff out to get the last of humanity. The alien monster in the very first Fallout was a nasty enemy and the Alien Blaster is that old as well.
I'm not sure what Beth may have retconned, or not, for Fallout 76 , i havn't tried looking up any of that yet for this game. I wanted to see if i could find some in game myself.
And I will ...
: WARNING SPOILERS
... confirm that I did find some in game and it was ALIVE ! For a short while at least. I couldn't tame it. :( and there was no special loot nearby.

edit : I havn't looked this encounter up either yet, wanted to find another one first but that hasn't happened yet.
edit: I'm going to try to tame one again if I ever find them. lol
Here’s a hint: If it’s a character in the game saying, writing, or otherwise indicating it then there’s absolutely no reason to expect that it’s the absolute, objective, and complete truth.
Also: The aliens were in 1 and 2.
