Is This Silly or What.. Fast Way To Collect junk !!!
So, I was walking to the thunder mountain power plant and was asked to take over it, I did not. Some player started shooting and killed me and took all my junk!!! All in few seconds.
When I asked about this in Bethesda I was told that just by walking into a workshop claimed or unclaimed, you risk PvP with an another player.
So
If someone camps outside workshops (or check the map) for low level players to be there.
Then
Attack and take all the junk they work hard for during months or years
Will this be the best official legal way to steal junks from other players?

No. Everyone knows workshops are PvP area's. Its also NOT the fastest way to collect junk because very few players visit workshops stuffed to the gills with junk.

You are overreacting and you do not understand how Fallout "world" pvp works nor how junk and scrap works if you ask questions like players losing collected junk for "months and years".

I recommend you read, or watch some videos, tutorials on these sorts of things. Its really NOT anywhere as bad as your imagining it is in that regard.

Good luck.

I think online was a mistake for this franchise.
did they even keep their staff? i thought some joined the OUTER WORLDS team.

I'm honestly not a fan of PvP. That's why I stick to Pacifist Mode.
I just wish that gave total immunity to other players' attacks.

Sorry for the noob question, but I thought pacifist mode makes it so they do minimal damage only , unless you shoot back...can you still be killed even when opting for pacifist mode?

Not any more. If someone "slaps" you to start pvp you take no damage unless you agree and "slap" back.

That I got from the OP, how does it play out outside from workshops? I encountered maybe 1,2 wanna-be griefers and they took a few pixesl of my health bar. I ignored them and carried on with my business - So I was just wondering, if I give them enough time they could actually kill me?

That what I thought, until yesterday when I got killed and all my "Bulk Junk" got stolen in seconds. When I asked I Bethsdaa Forums the reply was

"Just by walking into a workshop claimed or unclaimed, you risk PvP with an another player"

I know this was not the case and I stopped claiming workshops for that I have enough resources that will last me years...

However ... it is all gone now.

If you collect crap you aren't using... then you will accumulate crap you aren't using.

Scrap is causing you weight problems because you AREN'T using it. If you were using it, it wouldn't be piling up.

It is, 100%, hands down, that simple.

People actually modify all of their gear for carry weight and wear large backpacks to haul around garbage you can literally find everywhere. They stuff their stash full of extremely common scrap.

It's not a problem with the game. It's a problem with the players thinking.

Yeah. Forcing them into a certain playstyle. Minimalist. Which is not fun.

You seriously find hoarding random junk fun?
Why? What do you get out of it?
I suppose you could make yourself the wasteland’s premier junk trader, but people don’t exactly go around buying random junk.
Can’t be for building, that gets used up and the only resources you need a lot of can be farmed up in a matter of minutes.

What’s the point of stockpiling literal tons of stuff you will never use?

Then why the heck are you playing/complaining about the online survival side game?
They were always clear about what this game would be, if you somehow managed to miss literally every bit of promotional info for the game and just saw ‘Fallout! Must buy!’ Then that’s all on you.

Also, you never answer the P2W question. How does stockpiling infinite junk let you win this game?
Heck: How do you win this game to begin with?
NW? Can’t bring in your junk.
PvP? Junk is irrelevant to combat.

So you were carrying around literal years worth of junk, presumably with several more years worth in your stash, and lost a fight.
And your hoarding tendencies are the game’s fault because why now?

Why were you carrying years worth of junk?

Seriously: Why do you have years worth of junk just lying around?
You do know it respawns, right?
The game can not run out of junk. Ever.
Even half a stash worth of junk, even unbulked, is enough to do just about anything.
And you are carrying around literal tons.
And it’s the game’s fault that now you only have more than you’ll ever use rather than more than everyone on the server will ever use.

Honestly, I’m more confused as to where they’re hiding all these PvPers.
Is there some secret perk that lets people sniff out hoarders? Because they seem to be the only ones who ever get into fights.
It’s been months since I’ve even seen players fighting. Heck, months since I’ve even seen a proper bounty. Most I’ve seen was the little 5 cap lock pickers.

Imagine throwing a fit because you can’t hoard enough digital garbage.

Imagine your only purpose for buying and playing a game is to pretend to be on a TLC show.

Imagine buying a multiplayer game and then complain that it’s multiplayer.

Imagine thinking that someone asking ‘why’ is bullying.

I am really sorry if I made you mad, my apologies.
I know that people might get mad at someone using an auto in CS, however if the auto was part of the game anyone should be able to use it.
Fallout is not about killing or be killed, that is only 5% or 10% of the game. Once you finish the main quests, reach a certain level, and completed repeated quest over... fighting becomes small part of the game.

For me having a perk, that is a main part of the game, that allows me to reduce the weight of the junk by 75% (which means 1000 worth of junk is now 250) is an incentive to collect such junk.
Keep in mind that
Food – needs junk to prepare
Health – need junk to make
Ammo – needs junk to make
Armor – needs junk to create
Repair (of anything) – needs junk to repair
Helping lower level players (in health, Ammo, Armor, Repair, upgrading lower level weapons) – needs junk to be able to provide that help.
:
By having access to junk, you literally have access to every other item in the game.
Ask yourself
Would you take a
[100] Bulk Black Titanium or [1000] loose screws ..etc.
Yes you can spend hours looking for a {{Combination of Junk}} to repair something or create something .. but why waste time ?!!!
Collect your resource and then you will not have to worry about any of the above until you run out of such resource where you can spend hours remaking these resources.
The game has so many Perks for Junk
And it goes the extra mile in providing paid services for junk.
And charge people (Actual $$$) for Junk.
And charge people (Actual $$$) to be able to store extra junk.
I think to the game developers & players junk (resources) is way more important than any other item selection in the game… Why? Because with it you can create any item in the game.
Wish you the best of luck.

Prewar food is everywhere. I use Cannibal anyway.
Health is best in Daily Ops.
Ammo is best in Daily Ops.
Armor/ Weapons are found legendaries.
Repair needs little junk, especially since most repair to 200% durability. There's always repair kits dropped from SBQ anyway.

You can easily avoid needing junk.
