Tips For Placing Objects In Base?
My base was a ramshackle mess of various things placed as needed, but I decided this morning I'd actually build something decent, not just functional. So far, all I've achieved is turning the frustration up to 11.

Are there any tips anyone has for getting objects to be placed where you're looking? I'm trying to build a floor, and about the only place the floors WON'T snap to is square with the last block - it's always either offset by half a square or is showing up on a completely different side or it's hovering and red.

Walls also don't seem to work when you have a gentle slope anywhere. Is there a way to build a defensive wall when the terrain isn't perfectly flat?

Finally, stairs. Is there a way to rotate the blocks? Like the floors, it seems like the only place the stairs won't go is where I'm looking. When I do finally get them to show up on the correct side, often they're attached to the underside of the floor panel going down, not to the top of the floor going up.

There are many build guides on youtube, but the first thing you should build is the foundation.

I did that, but I did a 1x1 foundation so I could move the base eventually - that was easy. I've read several guides, but haven't seen anything other than complaints surrounding getting the items to be placed where you want them.

I'm starting to remember why I gave up building a base the first time. Crap like being able to place a wall in a location, but if you try to place the same kind of wall with a door frame, you get errors that it's intersecting an object.

I have gotten better at placing the floors, though - only have to move them about 50% of the time! Moving objects seems to work a LOT better than placing them, so twice the work, but a little less frustration.

Equip the Happy Camper Perk and the Good With Salt Perk, lets you ignore those survival mechanics while building.

tip 1 : place a floor tile unconnected outside where you want it, alone. Put all the items you want on that tile in your base then move the floor tile and try to fit it back into your base's floors with all those items on it.
Some times this lets you place CAMP items closer to each other and even to some walls.

tip 2 : if you can't seem to connect a peace with another directly from the build tab, again place that item outside your base. Then pick it up, but experiment with your PoV (point of view) and the distance that you pick it up from then move it into that location you want it in and try rotating it as you move through different angles.. This can help placing the item in faraway and close situations when otherwise you couldn't get it to connect or snap into place. This can get tedious, but its worked for me.

tip 3 : Watching some tutorials, or even CAMP tour videos, on youTube will go a long way. Try to concentrate on the most recent vids, some things have been changed by Bethesda. They continue to patch them out the 'tricks' that build some really interesting CAMPs when they can because reasons like server stability and stuff. Many tricks still work, its easy enough to find them on youTube and Redditt.

tip 4 & 4b: The less turrets you have the bigger your CAMP can be, those eat up a lot of CAMP Budget. And unless you like minute long scrolling while checking your Aid Tab in your CAMPs Stash do not put a large collection of Magazines and Bobbleheads on display. Also keep in mind some CAMP building can be hit with some bugs, so if that happens don't freak out, there most likely is a solution that may work.

Eg: You don't want someone walking away with one of your Legendaries if you put it on a weapon wall mount, actually its been a while, I don't know if that bug is still a thing. To bbusy to check.

I guess for me, the worst CAMP bug i had was when someone was able to buy a bunch of my comics even though they were not for sale. That has been fixed, but I still worry that it will happen again. And the 2nd worst one was having scraped CAMP Items not refund my CAMPs build budget properly.

Good luck and have fun.

PS : it would be cool if you showed us your new base when you feel its complete.
