NO HUD. NO COMPASS. NO PROMPTS. NO SEARCH MENUS. WHY?!

I'm new to PC gaming and decided to start with Fallout 76. I played it a bit on PS4 and enjoyed it.
BUT i loaded into the game and there is no HUD AT ALL. I mean no compass, no prompts to talk to people, no menu that floats over deceased robots or creatures with an inventory to search through, just the screen and me running around like the confused little survivor that I am.
I don't know enough about PC commands to have any idea of a fix for this. Also, it doesn't help that I haven't gotten used to the controls that are my keyboard.

last week the servers work like ♥♥♥♥... sometimes your HUD takes minutes to load.. any other times only half the area props load (the colision boxes gets loaded, so you hit invisible things) I noticed this on the Airport area, this las 2 days only half the airport loaded, while the rest was invisible...

You can try doing a file verification and see if that helps.

If you don't like the keyboard mouse controls, you can use an xBox or PS4 controller. I use an xBox controller and am quite happy with it.

running up to search an item u even looted before , to have it be nonactive as in it no longer acts like a lootable object. Fun? Happens often enough that game gets boring quicker when u have to reset , oh bad lag, reset again, etc

developers need to begin putting tutorials in games! what a concept , here is the game breaker -make them optional as in ask the player if they want to view the tutorial to learn how to play the game they just paid u money for!! wow if only ...most developers these days are brainless greedy sycophants.

I never had one at all from the start. talked to the Mr. Handy's and the two girls outside the vault without convo prompts. Once I initiated conversation the dialogue box would show up to choose responses. Then i went and killed a protectron, but after it died, there was no prompt or floating inventory to choose from. I just kept pressing the take key and had scrap metal in my inventory afterward, though. So it's there in some way. I just can't see it.

if redundant, apologies: always shut down and boot up a game that is acting up, something glitchy happens etc. often that's all it takes.

if that doesn't work, next step would be verifying the files integrity. right click on the game in your library > choose properties > click the "local files" tab > then click on "verify integrity of game files". steam will scan the files, and download any missing or broken files.

if even that doesn't work, you will need some advanced help, reddit possibly, or google, and you might get lucky and find someone who has had your exact problem and a possible fix in the thread.

I had this too with my new character. After exiting the Vault my HUD was gone. Few restarts later and it fixed itself.

UPDATE::LOADED BACK INTO GAME TODAY AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE!
