Fallout 5 needs to be in New Orleans.
There isn't a single more interesting location, period. San Francisco would be the best alternative, but that's it.

New Orleans has many great landmarks like Canal Street, Bourbon Street, City Park and so on. Swamps around that area are unique and beautiful, not ugly and generic, also mutated alligators would be new to Fallout - either wandering outside of New Orleans or jumping out of water, just like Radscorpions and Mole rats jump out in Fallout 4.

What I think would be really cool is a trolley navigation system, but with this twist: trolleys being noisy enough to attract feral ghouls, so you would have to hold them off while riding the trolley. I think that would be really fun, challenging and also the price you have to pay for faster navigation around the city, so it would be fair.

What do you think about this concept? Would you like Fallout 5 to be set in New Orleans or somewhere else and if yes, why?

i would love that, also Chicago or Illinois seems like a good location for the next game, i mean there could be pre war based mafia families like in New Reno and maybe some politician descendants who are affiliated with the Enclave

catch up ont he lore before you sugegst places already in fallout games of the past. whole web site dedicated to fallout and its history hours of reading fun and knowledge youll have to create your perfect character for the next game.

Where have we seen SF?
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 I think(The fallout classic games)
yes and bethesda doesnt make west coast stories. obsidian did. bethesda are the eaat coast fallout story makers.

but yes places already in other fallout games wont be locations for future fallout games.
keep your suggestions to this side of the rivers that run thru and youll be a lot closer to the right place when its finally teased.

and places either too far south like florida or north like minnesota wont really be used as they are too far from the locations they have already used...cant keep the story going if its in a totally new area with new every thing... they could but its going to be connected to fallout 4 as much as 4 is connected to 3.

Kinda hard to have Fallout in New Orleans. If they have to bury people above ground because of the very high water table. No way you get any vaults built.

Chicago, while awesome with both Argon and Fermi labs, would force Bethesda to either acknowledge the canon of FO Tactics or disregard it completely. And San Francisco was in FO2, where we met the Hubologists and the kung fu gangs.

to be fair, bethesda has already ignored a large chunk of the canon in previous games. I mean if they really didn't want to then they would ignore what happened in previous games like they've done mostly up to this point.

What Fallout 5 really needs is a new engine and maybe a different developer.

Remember Fallout 3 and his DLCs ... , we have travelled to Pittsburg, to Alaska, in space ... !!! So, I think it's feasable within Fallout 76 ... .

"New Orleans", nah gets boring real quick. Just look at Mafia 3 and some parts of RD2.

but fallout tactics isn't part of the official lore not fallout brotherhood of steel either, but maybe a better scenario would be Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Delaware or Minnesota.

Pieces of Tactics are used in the lore, notably Brotherhood airships.

We've already seen San Francisco. And per the lore, New York is just gone. I would like to see what happened to the rest of the world.

While it might be interesting to see the rest of the world in theory. The problem is the core of what makes Fallout different from every other post apocalyptic games is the 1950's America style. Might as well just play Stalker or Metro, and pretend they are in the Fallout world lol.

Me personally I just want Fallout 5, and the next TES game to be on a new engine that can handle larger open worlds. And for Fallout I want Vehicles. There serious potential for Mad Max style elements in Fallout we don't really get to see. Could be set near Detroit I suppose since it used to be an automobile manufacturing hub.

I'd personally love to see an XCom-esque reboot of Tactics... Was a terrible Fallout game, since it completely butchered the lore from the very first words of the intro (BoS founded in a "military vault, etc) but was otherwise not a bad game in it's own right...

From what I understand, Bethesda have acknowledged the major events of Tactics (destruction of Vault 0, etc) as canon, but, otherwise, it's generally not...

Meh, swamps have kinda been done plenty in Fallout already. Though I would like to see a snow region similar to Fallout 3 Anchorage as part of the map in some way.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel is more cannon that fallout 3/4. Deal with it.
