To power armor users at Colossal Problem
If Wendigo Colossus can see at least one player, he uses the shout that makes everyone panic (which breaks stealth).

I can solo this event, if only he cannot see me so that I can focus on constantly shooting at him.

I am not happy that every minute my character panics and runs away and I need another minute or two to deal with all the wendigo spawns that attacked me...

So if you are the only power armor user and have a few other stealthy players and you are not able to deal with wendigo spawns that jump at you on your own, please just stay away and let the stealth players finish the event (you will get the reward anyway).

And I hate it when you run away from the wendigo spawns and run into me cloaked...

It's been a few times already when there were 4 or fewer players doing the event and we did not complete it in time, because of that one power armor user, who was not dealing any damage to the colossus and only attracting all wendigo spawns.

Everyone : hey focus on boss
Me : fck it, i just focus wendigo spawn, easy ammo loot easy screws and easy xp farm
Unless you have legendary fixer, you could invisible forever even enemy walk into you

That's what I do when there are a lot of power armor users who deal significant amount of damage to the colossus. I just stay farther from the colossus and keep wendigo spawns away from the PA players. Sure, it means that I only get 50 caps from the colossus kill (instead of 500), but it's ok. I get more screws and XP from wendigo spawns. However, if I am the only player able to deal significant damage to the colossus and I can't go stealth...

I can do that without The Fixer, but the panic gets me out of stealth.

i feel its soo easy to predict when it about to make everyone frenzy that you can just pop a stealthboy and not have to worry about it . at least that is what i have been doing and still avoid all reveals. this boss has actually given me a reason to use them again and combo with my already stealth char. before tehy were 10000% useless to my steath char

I go in specifically for the wendigo mobs.

The panic scream has a radius of effect, stay out of Earle's butt if you don't want to be panicked.

Why not just build around the idea that you can't always rely on Stealth for this end game boss?

Seems like a better idea than to just hope a topic on the Steam forum somehow changes everyone elses behavior.

Kind of right? I mean... his tactic certainly works in ideal conditions. But in a game liek this planning for the unpredictable actions of random strangers is important.

That said it isn't a bad idea to put out a PSA on it. Drawing enemy crowds to a stealth-type is one of those things some people don't even realize is a bad idea unless it gets pointed out.

You know you could just do this thing called move the hell away right?

They aint alone.....oh right...you are doing your thing and screw everyone else because your dps is more important.

Which you can see here....

Maybe someone could take a few seconds and kill the adds....guess that someone aint you.

How many times have we heard "adds before boss" and people like constantly fail that basic mechanic then want to point the finger at someone else.

I did it with three. The two bloody players were useless because they were dead almost all the time from either adds, standing in stupid, or took like five minutes to get back.

If you could not do it with four people then you are doing something wrong. Which is definitely a you problem, because if you are any good with stealth then what the other people do does not matter.

Adds before boss....you obviously aint killing adds as you have pointed out repeatedly. It takes 2-3 shots depending on your weapon (without Junky or Bloody.)

You also seem to be completely ignoring the staggering attacks all those adds have, which is why you are SUPPOSED to help kill the adds. You completely forgot about that stagger because it was not about you.

By not killing adds you are basically increasing the odds of the adds knocking you out of stealth.

You also ignore there is this perk called Adrenaline. If you aint using that perk for that fight then you can hardly blame a dps issue on others.

You can and I did.
I had a simple two shot Fixer and a common non bloody and non junky sniper build.
I used VATS to kills the adds quickly in two shots.
I fired manually at the boss head for 50 points
If the boss came near me then I moved some where else.
I have Escape Artist and I actually use it.

I am pretty confident that event can easily be soloed with a normal build, a ghoul slaying weapon, a small arms bobblehead and that wendigo/cryptic magazine.

I didn't do it already (Colossal Problem) but I have face a Wendigo Boss in the Cranberry Bog, let's say we even finish it, we were two and cost me 4000 .50 Cal ... !!! I have a multi-purpose build that I use with Power-Armor. So, I read comments about the event before attempting doing it ... !

And if you have specific requirements for the people you are teamed up with get on the mic and put a plan together with the time you have while waiting for the rubble to clear. Others can't read your mind and may not understand what you are trying to do.

As Aasha pointed out, it's about educating non-stealth players, how their actions affect stealth players.

Which would result in range damage penalty and make aiming more difficult - I would not be able to score 100% of headshots which would decrease my damage even more.

Same can be said about the other player. Who then was very happy to complain that we failed the event and kicked everyone out of the team.

In a small low-level team where the players deal low damage - yes, my dps is more important, without it the boss wouldn't be killed (well, it wasn't...)

Which is definitely a you problem

Two players in the event:
  • player A has enough DPS to kill the boss on their own
  • player B does not have enough DPS to kill the boss on their own

Player B is constantly interrupting player A.

Which part is too difficult to understand?

The guy couldn't understand. Thanks to the lack of text chat, communication in this game is impossible.

Ok. It might have reached the one person who wasn't aware of how Stealth works in damn near every game.

On the other hand, you could have understood the problem and adapted to the new situation. That would have been FAR more effective than the vain hope this is somehow useful.

Seems you need to stop joining the power armor people, you can pick your group but not there noses. Forums are great today So many Einsteins!

Still all about your damage...

Longhsot perk, look it up.

Besides I thought you said the problem was the boss was TOO CLOSE?

Now your rant is the boss is too far away...
So which is it?
The boss is outside your falloff range (which puts you out of fear range) or the boss is in your face?

If you left me to deal with all the adds while you focused only on the boss I would kick you too.

Speaking of which, you ignored every point about you not helping with adds....
