mothman backpack missing

Hey, wondering if anyone could help, I recently purchased a mothman backpack from the store from fallout 76, I want to make the backpack but I don't have the plans for it or the backpack in my inventory. when I check with the store it just says owned. thanks

You don't have plans or the item. When you go to customize your backpack at an armor's bench you will see a mod to apply it then.

You need to have a backpack first before you can apply the skin.

You have to finish the Tadpole and/or Possum side-mission chains to acquire a basic backplan to unclock first.

Then you can apply your purchased appearance modification to an existing backpack.

You can apply Backpack skins to the Small Backpack now.

What is a small backpack?
I assume that change is a recent one, since I was not really aware of that item before.

Small backpack is the plan you get from the Airport Overseer Cache very early in the game.

Thank you for explaining.
I don’t recall seeing it, so it must have been added a long time after I was a low level player.
I haven’t been to the Airport in a very long time, aside from random events and “just passing through”

skins thos things in the atom shop are skins for in game items. you dont buy a power armor you buy a paint job or customization package that changes existing armor. i used to say this for everything but you also have let pack skins.
which take a jet pack to use and those plans are not eaxctly common or cheap and the materials to make a jet pack are also uncommon and not cheap.

read descriptions of things you buy carefully
