Drowning in Power Armor?
So, i did not play the game the last few weeks and after coming back today i discovered that i now drown underwater in my power armor?
That has never happened before, usually with power armor you cant drown under water.
But now i get the "low oxygen" blubber sound and my chara choking and losing health till i die.
Tried relogin, getting in and out of my power armor, nothing.

Still drowning. Using the Ultracite power armor with the Red Rocket skin.

So, is this a bug or a deliberate change?

There's a breath while under water Perk card so I'm guessing this is working as intended. Could be wrong.

aquaboy is the perk card for underwater breathing, also prevents rad damage while swimming.

Always thought this was stupid as heck, Power Armor is a fully sealed environment suit, which means it comes with it’s own inbuilt air supply.
Or it should if the designers had any common sense.

But I just use AqauGirl/AquaBoy and never have to worry about drowning, in Power Armor or not.

Only have like 1 point in END and it's aquaboy. I wish there were actual things underwater to collect and/or see. Feels like there should be some safes and or sunken vehicles to loot. But nope. I don't think any Fallout has had underwater loot, but I could be wrong.

According to the Fallout 76 wiki:

"Sealed power armor allows for walking underwater for several minutes before beginning to suffocate."

But i get the drowning noise and hp drain after about 20 seconds.
Just like running around without power armor.

Thats what i was talking about. I was in the sunken mine where large parts are under water.
Before i could explore that mine without problems with power armor on and no drowning.
Now i start drowning after a very short time.

And no, never had the aquaboy/girl perk card.

Plenty of underwater vehicles if you go deep enough, but I never found any loot in them, so assumed they were just decorative.

by any chance you dont wear the PA Helm? (wrecked or unequiped? )

Yeah, was my first thought but nope. Wearing all parts, including the helmet, all at top condition.
Just recently repaired everything to 200%.

The time scale in game is much higher.

Think about it, the games goes through 24 hours in a real hour. Which means the power armor contains enough air to be under water for a couple hours.

Power armor is also not meant to be used solely underwater either. If it was then it would have propellers or something so it can float and not sink.

The Chinese Stealth suit allows you to breathe underwater. Why you did not just switch to that, I do not know.

None of this is relevant. The point is that before you could go underwater for multiple real time minutes without drowning in power armor.
The official Fallout 76 wiki itself says so.
Now you cant.

THATS ALL I WAS ASKING.
Its not about what perk i should use ( i know) or what other armor i could use ( I KNOW) , its soley a question why this is now a thing when it was not before.

Maybe endurance effects how often you can stay underwater. I've spent much longer underwater in Power Armor.

The only time I've ever drowned in PA was in fallout 4. I didn't time it but it was over several minutes. I didn't stay under as long in 76 as in fallout 4, but I've definitely spent more than a couple minutes underwater without drowning. I've heard noises that sound like drowning, but never saw my health go down. Aqua boy not equipped but endurance is 7, I think.

People need to learn how to actually read:

I'm going to throw in my vote on bug, because I don't have this issue; and "Bugthesda."

If rebooting the game doesn't fix it, then you should definitely report it as a bug.

Thx. I will give it a few more tries ( different power armor/server) and so on , and if that does not fix it i will report it as a presumed bug.

You can certainly drown in PA. To test it out, I tried Excavator and XO PA's-I just stood underwater for a few minutes like normal and then drowning kicked in.

Yes, you can drown. But it takes a few minutes in PA.
Since today i drown the same speed as without using power armor but inside it.
That was my problem.

This is a bug or a new 'feature'. I have spent hours underwater before the wastelanders issue.

Just tested with T-45. Had 3 minutes underwater before the drowning started....I sure hope it is a bug.
