Gas Station Simulator

Worth Buying?
I've had this game on my wish list for a while and with the recent sale I'm considering buying it but the things addressed in the negative reviews plus some of what I see on these message boards paints a bleak image. The two biggest issues I'm worried about is the optimization issues a lot of players seem to encounter and the tediousness of grinding near the end game (performing repetitive tasks like having to repaint your building or cleaning dust pile). Also a couple of reviews point out that rather than a business sim it's more like a collection of mini-games.

Are these issues overblown?

No problems with optimization, and about grinding, it is work: Put gas, sell items, clean, and paint.

Grinding at the end game gets tedious ... I think 25 to 30 hours for me. But I wanted all achievements so...

My computer crashed about 20 times in 80+ hours of playtime, FPS was staggering at some times but nothing I would call game breaking for a Simulation game.

You do have to watch out because the game WILL get expanded in the future , so probably more things to do and not getting into that boring end game grind. That is a positive thing.

I've only just started playing but so far haven't had issues and was entertaining.

bugs, no optimisation, devs releasing base game mechanic as a dlc instead fixing thre game. so stay away.

I am at the end game popularity grind... and is there honestly any use to painting outside of aesthetics? I've never seen people get upset if they see graffiti or faded walls.

It's a gimmick, you don't have to paint. And you can turn off the dennis boy , so it does not really matter.

If you like these type of games you'll get about 10 hrs of fun. In the end there isn't much content. You upgrade your station a bit and that's it.

Edit. Try the demo!

my customers are the best, they fill up and buy a lot, come into the workshop, wash their carts and let themselves be robbed and keep coming back lol. :104:

Purely just for looks if you want to make the gas station look visually appealing. Dennis the kid will eventually come and try to spray graffiti on the gas station, which you can have some items handy to throw at him to scare him away. He can be turned off in the gameplay settings if he's annoying.

End game achievements are tedious ... more a chore than an actual achievement.

I personally haven't crashed in weeks or had any performance issues...it is a bit grindy towards the end but most games are and is preferable to 100% quickly.

The only actual mini game is the mini race car.
