Icarus
LITTLE FRIEND? WTF
I'm so pissed. I have been doing the missions and got to magmatic. I got myself all geared up and altered all gear, brought tons of ammo and arrows, etc.. And without knowing it's been added to this mission, I meet Little Friend. I can't get past it and I can't kill it as a single player. And now I can't get back to all my gear. This should not exist in single player or should at least have the option of turning it off. So I've lost all my gear and have to abandon the mission. I just can't get back to my stuff. I've watched videos of 2 players struggling to make any progress in killing this thing. Very OP. Any suggestions welcome.

I ran into the cave, and shot it from inside the cave. It's doable solo. I used armor piercing and explosive ammo on it. I remember one of them did far more damage then the other, but I honestly can't which one worked better.

There's actually a way to roll back saves, and restore an older auto-save by the way.

Thanks.. I don't know how I can get to the cave at this point. The thing is camping my body so anytime I get even in the vacinity it comes out of nowhere and kills me so fast. But I will try what you said.. with the ammo and see if I can get into a cave. Hopefully. I'm tired of losing good gear. LOl
1) If you are afraid some unpredictable problem, I recommend that you save your Icarus progress to a separate folder on another partition of the drive (or flash drive). (disable Steam clouds, otherwise, when you manually return your saves, there is a chance that Steam cloud will return the original saves).
-------->! You need to save the entire directory c:\Users\"name your windows account"\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved
You can do a 'full rollback' with this.
2) You can try to ‘roll back’ the save via a backup file, which is done every half hour or when you exit to the ‘character selection’ menu; until that moment everything was fine.
Mission names usually consist of a set of letters and numbers. You can determine which save was from your mission by the fact that these *.json files will have to have the latest creation date.
A fairly detailed description (by analogy)

Thank you. Unfortunately I have no idea about how to do those. And I would be afraid to try since I know nothing about how computers work. :(Thank you for your response tho. I do appreciate it.
Install a mod that removes these restrictions, I play on the basic map and have no problems.

I am playing on the basic map. Just doing a mission while on that same map. It's the large beasts that have been added.. Not sure there is a way around them now. :(

Coldsteel knife with electro attachment (dont even need to be specced into knife skills), stand underneath it and stab it to death, takes about 2 minutes tops and unless you're bad at combat, you barely take any damage during, i've been regularly farming it in my open world for the exotics whenever it respawns since it takes so little effort

Ok thanks! What armor are you wearing? Cause with the armor I'm wearing (and alterations) it kills me quick.

You need the tier 4 obsidian armor. Insane fire and explosion resistance. You literally wade right into lava while wearing this stuff. If you get set on fire and are burning, just take a quick drink from a canteen to put it out.

The tier 2 heavy obsidian armor might work, but the resistances are different on that.

Bring several canteens of water. My biggest problem with that fight was ending up with nearly permanent overheating (hypothermia) that nearly killed me several times on the way out of the zone. Even with ducking into caves and using cooling bandages, I could not get rid of it. Stepping outside the cave instantly restored the debuff and created a damage over time effect. I had to dive into a lake back in the main area, and swim around to finally get rid of it. It got me down to very low health percentages repeatedly.

awesome, the explosion resistance on the tier 4 obsidian armor will make the fight turn out MUCH different hopefully.

Bring extra canteens of water, cooling bandages, and healing stuff. I used more healing items AFTER the boss fight then during it.

I can see that. I would be very pressed to use them alot during. LOL
You can add water bombs here for weakness to cold and electricity.

I've never made water bombs.. I'll have to look at how to use them . Thank you!
