1) Save your Icarus progress to a separate folder on another partition of the drive (or flash drive). (disable Steam clouds, otherwise, when you manually return your saves, there is a chance that Steam cloud will return the original saves).
-------->! You need to save the entire directory c:\Users\"name your windows account"\AppData\Local\Icarus\Saved
You can do a 'full rollback' with this.
2) You can try to ‘roll back’ the save via a backup file, which is done every half hour or when you exit to the ‘character selection’ menu; until that moment everything was fine.
Mission names usually consist of a set of letters and numbers. You can determine which save was from your mission by the fact that these *.json files will have to have the latest creation date.
A fairly detailed description (by analogy)

the first part of your answer starts wrong... i did not said they need to take the fire out of the game completly...
I said they have to rework it. And they still have to. The spread of fire should be lowered... and maybe standing torches should not spread any fire .... makes them indoor totally useless...
I combusted. I spread that fire through most the forest whilst sprinting at silly speeds towards the water that I would never reach, with the moa in flames behind me, all the way.
We did not survive.
At the time I was frustrated for the 20 minutes or so lost having to do it again for the mount. Now, it's a fond memory of an adventure in another world.
I like the fire. Didn't read OP, Sorry.
Any chance of getting a flame thrower to keep all this pesky vegetation away from the base? I believe bio-fuel is flammable.
Edit: Rincewind. Any Idea where I can get Discworld game from the 90's?
Ebay maybe
Myabandonware dot com has Discworld (1995), IIRC.
There is also Freebie dot games.
You could also search playclassic dot games and I saw Discworld Noir on archive dot org, a few years ago.
