Bone armor let down

Me and my cohort have supported this game since launch with only a week or two break due to game breaking bugs. We love it the mission keeping you on your toes new things to do along the way.

I was excited to see the new armors, but let down to find out the only way to get one that I'd been reading in future content is to watch content creators. That feels unfair to give away armor sets to select people. Those of us that have supported you are getting slapped in the face.

My suggestion is if you are going to lock armor sets you should do it like you did with the lights you offered as DLC you could buy.

Comrades, this is really not very fair. Personally, for example, I don’t use Twitch, since it’s fundamentally not interesting to me. There are people who have done more than many for Icarus, for example manuals of DoomieGaming

And you here bums and give out exclusives to some. Most importantly to whom? Someone out there on Twitch? And who are all these people and who will watch them?

Also, it is simply incorrect in relation not only to the owners of the Support Edition, but also to the rest.

Just a heads up, this has not been confirmed yet. They considered releasing the bone armor via Twitch drops but have mentioned on several occasions (most recently last night) that they are considering other options.

I am also not a Twitch user. I have bought everything of the game and I don't even play outpost just to support them. To have to jump through hoops just to get cosmetics feels unfair.

I hope they find another way than Twitch, as I don't watch live streams like that. I'll check out brief clips or youtube videos to see how the gameplay is and to get an idea if i want the game or not, but I don't like to spend my free time watching other people play a game. I rather play myself :-)

I'll be honest. The majority of people who collect twitch drops also don't use twitch consistently (Including myself). I on rare occasions watch small streamers that I like but I'm not a huge twitch fan for multiple reasons. Most of us just find a twitch stream with a drop we want and let that sucker run in the background while we afk or do other things.

The viewership helps the content creator and it helps your favorite dev studios by giving them exposure to a larger audience (those of us that aren't
afk 😄). So even being AFK you're a big help.

Ah I see. I'm new to the whole "twitch drop" thing, since I don't watch twitch normally. I actually had to look up 2 days ago what a twitch drop was, when i saw it mentioned on the forum regarding bone armour. xD

Yeah AFKing is the secret, or not so secret. Some of those twitch drops require hours and hours and hours of viewing. A very wise woman once said "Ain't nobody got time for that!"

Yep, this is probably been the most disappointing thing the devs have actually done in my books. just point it as cheap paid DLC and maybe leave it for free for those who actually watch twitch

Or they could just add bone armor as a unique recipe unlock from a mission, as they've done with many many other things. Find one of the early simple missions on Olympus and slap it on.

Then everyone can stop freaking out about an "armor" you will outgrow in the first 5 minutes of a mission.

Actually, I land in the 700 series stealth armor. Never seen any stats on bone armor, but I'm fairly certain the 700 armor has better stats. Damage resist, heat, cold, and -perceived threat.

If i don't bring that suit on a mission, I just make ghillie armor from resources on the spot.

But that's okay, just keep looking and you guys will find something else to be upset about. It's like the only mode you guys know how to operate on anymore. Everything is a letdown, everything is a disappointment. It's kind of funny at this point.

Bone is a low tier armor (tier 2) That is easy to acquire, boosts melee dmg and has high melee protection, moderate temp protection and decent exposure protection making it a goto armor for anything using melee weapons such as spears, knives, and axes. While throwing spears, throwing knives and bows/crossbows would be better suited for likely Ghillie.


It has the exact same stats as Cured Leather Armor (made in tier 3) with armor set bonus geared towards Melee fighting vs +10 health and stamina regen.

you are quite mistaken here. it was their plan to make bone armour a Twitch drop, but things happened, and they are now figuring out a different plan.

either way, I don't see it as a slap in the face, and I'm kind of confused how you came to that conclusion yourself. I also don't understand how you think it is only available to "select people"? anyone can get Twitch drops.

you are entitled to your opinions, but my opinion is that it is completely fair. it hurts no one. Twitch is free, so content is not locked behind a paywall. some people have a problem with Twitch, others don't, that is your choice. I don't care much for Twitch, yet if a game I enjoy offers a drop, I have no problem with afking a stream to get it.

at the end of the day, it helps content creators, aswell as exposes the game to a broader audience. there is literally no downside.

also, keep in mind, Styx was given out for free for over a year. I really don't see how any of this can be taken as a "slap in the face".

With all the support this game has gotten since I bought it on day 1 the last thing I feel is slapped in the face by anything.

Yeah...the that armor needs to be reduced for the tier level, and I will not feel so bad.
