A quick TL;DR for anyone considering, here are my thoughts:
1. Game runs poorly and if you reduce graphics settings looks terrible.
2. There's literally nothing to do. Its the most generic survival building game yet. The future betas don't seem like they add anything either except more elements.
3. The concept makes no sense at all. You literally start the game by landing on a planet in a space pod that can return you to space and your first task is to craft weapons and tools from sticks. Why didn't I bring anything? Also, there's no O2 on a planet full of trees and animals...
4. The timer concept is god awful, basically means you can never just sandbox build huge cool stuff.

All in all, stick to the forest or another survival game imo.

Lol, thanks for good laugh, yeah... You travel thousands of light years to a habitable planet, build a space station on its orbit, land on its surface using a high-tech futuristic dropship and then craft stone tools... 🤣

Pretty much! and your surrounded by giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grizzly bears, you can kill in about 4-5 stabs with a wooden spear.. and a ♥♥♥♥ ton of wolves, which wont die even after you have stabbed one 20 times with same said spear. While the rest of its pack is methodically tearing chunks of your ass off.

you convinced me. thanks

Yeah. i was unimpressed in my very first 10 steps out, suddenly theres a wolf, and im dead "If you respawn you will lose everything you gathered and get an XP penalty!" so tried again. spawned in random area close by, ran around, got some stuff, killed a bear. Saw the wolf, decided "♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥♥!" and went after it. It killed me.

Found that if you just alt+F4 out, while knocked out, wait a bit, then join back in your rezzed with all your stuff and no penalties.

Did you even read any of the literature on the game? The atmosphere is toxic to humans.
With this "I don't understand it, it must be bad" attitude, I assume you make similar jaded statements about nearly every game that doesn't adhere to strict realism must be crap, no matter how small the violation is?

cue the "it's just a beta. full release will be much better. the braindead ai will be fixed on release. all the QoL problems will be fixed on release. there'll be so much more to do on release" morons who would happily shovel the any dev's excrement down their mouths. 🤡

Sorry that mind of some of us is spoiled by the old sci-fi comics that had more realism in them and were still fun to read.
Which ones, exactly? All the ones I remember had things like space friction, no relativity, and "more power=more performance".

I love survival games but what you explained to me sounds like pure aids of survival
Thank you for saving the time I would had wasted

I wonder how an ecosystem made of 90% carnivores functions. It's like a kid decided to add animals and chose the edgiest ones he can think of.

They also have a outpost mode that doesn't have same things as timer mode.
If it did, it would just be the normal mode. Why would you want to buy a game whose normal/main mode you don't like, anyway?

No. It would be a good game then. We will have everything except the timer. But no the developers force you play timer mode by making restrictions.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not good. It's an opinion, not an objective fact.

And of course if it was a legitimate beta it'd have happened months ago, for free, because they'd actually need players to beta test. When you charge money for a beta test especially when it's shortly before launch it's just a paid demo.

Sure it's all about personal preference, but how many people do you think really prefer restrictions over freedom in games that are supposed to be a form of entertainment? I think whether we take it subjectively or not, any restrictions put into the game are ruining it for most people.
Every game has restrictions. Even sandbox games and PnP RPGs have restrictions. In fact, most people get bored more easily if there are fewer restrictions, because they can't help themselves. They want to minmax, to skip to the end, and end up skipping the actual game.

Gameplay cannot exist without restrictions. The goal of most developers isn't to create a near-perfect lifelike simulation without restrictions, it's to create a game with compelling gameplay. And on that front, I find the blend of the rogue-like "session-based" gameplay and survival components interesting, to say the least.

There are restrictions and then there are RESTRICTIONS. Time limits are out of demos from 1999.
Except that time limit is part of the gameplay loop, it's not like the game just ends afterward.

It's a game over when you run out of time, description on the store page states that. Are you trying to say that the description on the store page is misleading?

The orbital space station waits for no one. If you fail to return to your dropship in time, there is no rescue. Your character’s progress and tech is lost to planet Icarus.
Yes, it's a game over, after which you just continue playing, like with every other game with failure conditions. You were comparing it to a timed demo, which will just lock you out completely. Maybe you should say what you mean instead of using equivocation.
