So, to me, the real good guy here is Jeremy, because he is doing what the media should be doing and never actually do: simply showing the truth, without taking sides, and letting demanding that their audience just think for one second and try to make an informed decision by themselves.
Advance is obviously the villains because...well....obvious reasons. (Nuking a bunch of people because they cannot do warfare honorably, sterilizing their population for whatever reason, general oppressive government, etc).
Disrupt is also bad because it supports the rich elites. Although, I believe the actual fighters for Disrupt weren't particularly bad, they didn't really know who they were fighting for which you can't blame them, all they wanted was freedom, so that's pretty fair.
I am not gonna say what my ideology is but my ideology is in support of the TRUTH, which is what Donaldson of course fought for, and I believe he is really the only good voice. Both Disrupt and Advance tried censoring certain things, which is also pretty bad.
I was pro advance, until they asked me to censor stuff, then i went pro disrupt, but they also asked me to censor stuff. I am fully against censorship.
The way the media is right at the start of the story, parallels where ours was in the 80s-90's before covert censorship became straight up propaganda. As much as I don't like the elite of Disrupt, I like the people's fist even less.
Disrupt was no better, as soon as they rise to power again: genocide, censorship and straight up propaganda ensures. This is an alternate fallout-esque scenario where there are no good guys.
Disrupt seem to value freedom and autonomy but they also have criminal connections and seem to be backed by the old elite and the rich. Plus they commit mindless violence against innocent people.
Advance on the other hand are democratically elected and promise a fairer society. They also have corrupt ministers, favour authority over freedom and have some really sinister policies that lack empathy for the population. I'd argue they become fully evil later in the game when they commit some acts that are basically unforgivable (avoiding spoilers).
The media services whatever whim/agenda it has, and can make either side in any debate look "good or bad."
Jeremy Donaldson was my favourite character. A man in an impossible situation, pointing out the complete insanity and stupidity of the society he's in.
Exactly like the serious part in fallout, there is never "good vs evil", because there is just intentions, everyone is evil in a degree
