Troves, the Well of Charon, and boon purge interactables all have a sound that I would best describe as either a flame appearing when turning on a gas grill or a large curtain being dragged away. What is most important is that the sound is based on direction. If you do not hear something that is not in the same direction as the doors, and you hear no high pitch ding, you can keep on going.
EDIT: Can't remember the sound of chaos gates, but Erebus gates have a real sound of fire. I do remember these are also directionally based.
Also Chaos speaks a line at times to let you know, but I'm not sure if there are specifics for when this happens (like you're far away from the gate as you finish the encounter) or if it's just random.
It's kind of suprising that this still hasn't been implemented in any capacity. In particular Asphodel is so friggin' huge you WILL miss a thing or two at times. Especially subtle stuff like Wells. It's one thing to miss out on like 15+ coins if you didn't see some shiny vases, but the rest? They're pretty damn important! And not everyone has exellent hearing to hear the audio cues for those stations. Or they don't know what sound to look out for.
But yeah, speaking of... There's definitely a audio cue for the Wells, they're like the doors once those unlock, but notably louder. The Chaos gate has a particular sound to it (as well as a unique ambience), so that's hard to miss. Same thing for Erebus gates. And it's very hard to miss the fishing cue.
Well, i don't expect any changes now. Though i would've welcomed it if there was a option in the Options menu to visually mark any such stations when not in battle. Like a small bubble with a icon and a arrow pointing at said station.
It's a tiny modification, trivially easy to implement, which would improve the game noticeably.
Told you I was being a moron! Seriously, it's impossible to spend time looking for stuff around the map when, for example, you're trying to beat a time record (or playing under the Pact option that limits the total time available per realm).
Most importantly, it's mighty annoying and unfun. I wanna have fun. This search in every nook and cranny every half a minute or so is pointless and annoying. It's actually my only gripe with the game. Developers! Take heeeeeeeed
That is a matter of a personal preference. Plus, if such little thing is capable of ruining all the fun for you, then I have questions regarding your definition of "fun".
While I'm against arrow saying GO HERE IDIOT, I think little indicator below boons (kind of like hermes feather or thanatos butterfly) that there is stuff in the room should be there, like appear for couple of seconds after your battle is over.
Wouldn't hurt much and you actually won't forget.
@Neetinator: "actually my only gripe" means "ruining all the fun for me" now? English must have evolved recently...
Also, can I want to beat a time record and still fish?
