How do I get all the fish?

There's quite a few fish in my log not showing up and remaining ???. I'm already at 50 or so runs and completed about 15-20 escapes. Why aren't these fish showing up? :/

Some fish require you to get a "perfect catch" in order to catch them, which requires you to push the button within 1/3 of a second after the bobber goes down. This can be pretty tough to do, and even if you do it you only have a small chance of getting them.

Pretty much the only advice I can offer is that there will only be a maximum of three fake tugs -- so if you get past three, you know the fourth one will be real, so you can hit the button immediately without questioning whether it's fake or not.

I'm pretty confident the chance of a legendary fish from a perfect catch is 50%, not the 5% a lot of guides say. Otherwise, yeah, what they said. Also there are fishing spots that are quite rare to get at all that might be leaving empty spots in your codex, like the ones in Chaos and, to a lesser extent, Greece.

well thats stupid the bobber literally sinks all the way on every bob how are you supposed to be that fast when its that hard to tell

There is a also a small "flash" effect.

Since there's a Fishing thread, i'll jump in : I can't see any Chaos fish.
I have over 110 runs, completed all the fish entries (even Greece) a long time ago, and encountered a Chaos fish only once.
I'm always using the Chaos gates, picking bonus Charon boons when i see them, but nothing to do. No ringing sound, nothing to see.
Are they that rare ? I finished all the stories / prophecies and affinities, I'm clearly not going to do 200 runs to complete this, but it annoys me a bit.

I read in the wiki it's 7% chance for a fishing spot in Chaos areas.

Thanks for the info, I'm pretty sure I've been there at least 2 runs out of 3, so I should have seen more than one fishing point.. I must be quite unlucky :-/
Anyway I really cared about the stories, not as much the completion of the codex so I'm not too stressed about that.
