In the last region you can buy an anvil which trades 1 random hammer upgrade you already have for 2. Also, you kinda have to stack all the flat bonuses and debuffs to have enough damage for the final boss. And there are plenty of boons with more active effects.
I love the runs where I get the Daedalus Hammer in the first room, since that may lend itself toward a particular build I like or like to try.
Conversely, if I end up with a selection of Hammer rolls that don't blend into what I do, e.g. using an Attack Railgun build, but every Daedalus Hammer is related to Special or the one hammer that reduces range for increased base damage, then I try to pick the hammer that doesn't interfere with my build instead.
What balances them out is you can always only get 2 per run without using the anvil, unlike boons where you can get tons and tons of.
* Well, never mind, just got it a second after I posted this when I started my new run.
so im trying to get all the daedalus upgrades on the weapons and honestly its a bit annoying running with the shield for the 30.th time to get the one last damn upgrade -_-
