lucky tooth is the only keepsake worth having, right?

Hard to say - everyone will have their preferences based on their playstyles and experiences through the game.

For some folks that don't use any death defiances on a run, the Lucky Tooth is worthless.

To be a bit facetious, I'd give a shout out to the Lambent Plume crowd - y'all know who the real hero is with the goodly boons. ;)

Once you're too good to even use a single defiance a run, the tooth is useless.

It's handy when you're still getting used to the game, but after >50 runs, most of the time I can make it to the end without using any death defiances. If I have to use one, it's usually because I didn't get useful boons and got unlucky against Theseus. It's pretty rare for me to ever go through all three -- rare enough that I don't think keeping the tooth equipped is worth losing the benefits you get from other boons.

If I had to pick a single favorite, I'd probably go with either the Pom Blossom or Pierced Butterfly, but those are most useful if you select them first and keep them for the entire run. The individual gods' keepsakes are handy if I'm trying to go for a specific build, but I'll switch away from them at the soonest opportunity.

I always used it, but then I started having death defies left over, meaning I'm missing out on the value of something else being boosted.

I think Lucky Tooth helps if you have a bad load out, but if you get a really good bit of luck, you want to capitilise on it by having a keepsake that boosts your play style best.

I'm so good I can beat the game without even turning it on.

It's only good when you actually need it. If you don't even use all your death defiances (or even one for that matter) you're effectively gaining no perks from using it.

I'll equip it after Elysium if I have a bad run and feel like I'm going to choke on on the final boss, but that's about it.

well, its a sorta weird idea. Its one of those items, like Cerberus collar that is good to help you survive and keeps you going. A way to help you out when you start.

But it ends up one of those cases where the player is good enough to survive without that item, and then they look for stuff that helps them clear enemies faster, and gain other advantages. As once they get used to dodging, and adjusting to enemy patterns. The priority is damage of any kind. If that makes sense. Not the best at explaining things.

I usually take god keepsakes for the first 2 areas to get a certain build. Then sometimes pick the Bone Hourglass for Elysium (for both wells, before and after, as well as those during Elysium, of course) and Broken Spearpoint for Styx.

UNBREACKABLE sums it up me thinks.

I never used it.

Could have saved my run 3 or 4 times in 70+ runs/26 victories.

I used to take money+ for the extra 150$, then switch at the 2nd level.for the HP+50 one.

But have been experimenting with others latelly.

The plume is great with powerfull weapons like the fists/sword(when clearing rooms quickly is the norm)

The one that gives Random Boon level+1 every 4 room is nice too.

Unless it's a very high heat run and you choose it over the acorn, sure, otherwise it's useless. Once you improve, there're better choices than something that does absolutely nothing unless you die.

I agree for the first few runs when you are still learning and can't have 3 Death Defiances yet. After that, up until The Styx, there's no reason to use it and not even then if you still have your Death Defiances. Money, Perspephone's or any God that could potentially give you a Duo or even Legendary is much better. Even invulnerability for first few hits against bosses is much better imo.

Perhaps you are beginner? As experienced player, I prefer to take specific God keepsake for first two acts (which will almost guarantee powerful set up for the end of game) and Evergreen Aconrn for Elysium and Styx (since bosses hits like a train, especially Hades - you will protect yourself way more with this keepsake).
I stopped playing with 101th winning streak and with all weapons heat 32-36. I used lucky Tooth only for learning game at the beginning, but later this keepsake is more like a dead weight to be honest.

Cerberus Collar is worth more HP than lucky tooth if you have at least two DDs left, actually. Acorn is often worth more than tooth too, depending on context (going into Styx and mainly worried about the boss).

Forcing a deflect dash out of athena with her keepsake at the very start has more value.
