Second world (lava) - how to?
So I got past the first world and just started getting into the game and got thrown into a world where there is lava everywhere that burns you on contact. Not feeling like continuing. Is there any way to become immune? I don't want total god mode, just don't like so many death pits when you can't heal and have to dodge a lot. It's worse than dark souls /nioh and those games have a lot of death pits and dodging.

The lava just hurts a bit if you stand in it too long. There's even a short (maybe like half a second) grace period before you start taking damage. Just dodge over it.

There's an Athena boon that gives damage resistance to traps, pretty sure that applies to lava as well. This is mostly just something you'll have to get used to though. Getting burned can be a little scary, but it doesn't do damage very fast as long as you don't just stand around in it. Just keep dashing.

For me, what works best is to keep dodging and dashing -- dashing from one 'island' to the other where the lava flow is narrowest allows you to go over it without taking damage.

Otherwise, IIRC, there's an upgrade you can add to the sword later (after completing several runs, that is) which has a side effect of 'covering' the lava floor and makes it easier. But I've only seen it used, I haven't tested it myself. (Also, it's a bit of a spoiler.)

It indeed works this way. It covers up all traps and lava is considered one.

If it's any comfort this is the shortest area of the game there's only like a few rooms that you spend wandering around lava world and then you're done with it

Asphodel seems hard only on like 1st or 2nd try. You won't step into the lava at all in later runs.

Thanks. I play with WASD so can't dodge as well as someone using an analogue controller which makes lava quite troublesome. Haven't played the game since dying to lava so I will have to try to find this upgrade and give the game another shot..

Lava counts as a trap so trap resistance or the oposite of that, influences it.

A couple of things to keep in mind with lava- it takes about a second of standing in lava before it starts to damage you, so you do have a bit of a grace period to get out of it. You also move slower when trying to run across lava, so don't just run across it, use your dash to move across lava if you need to do so. The damage from lava also ramps up if you keep standing in it; if it's just a moment you get caught in it every now and then it's some barely noticeable chip damage, but if you lose track of your position and stay in it for a while the damage can quickly ramp up.
