There are. Sometimes between rooms, always after boss, most of the time at the shop.
You can also get ability to kill to heal.
You sucking at the game and not even trying to understand it and play it =/= crap

the mirror in your room has one.
IT allows you to die once and come back per run with half health, can be upgraded as well:)

- Charon sometimes sells food that will provide Health.
- Well of Charon sometimes sells Life Essence (restores a varying amount of Health); Eye of Lamia (gives slain foes a 15% chance to drop healing food); or HydraLite (restores 10% Health when entering a chamber, for 3 times).
- After vanquishing the boss of each biome (except for the Temple of Styx), the next chamber has a Healing Fountain that restores a portion of health.
- In the Temple of Styx, the chamber with the Satyr Sack and room reward will have a Healing Fountain that restores significantly more health than other fountains.
- After being unlocked from the House Contractor, you have a chance to enter a Fountain Chamber in the first three biomes, which have no encounters, the room reward, and a Healing Fountain.
- Chthonic Vitality upgrade from the Mirror of Night lets you restore 1 Health per rank when entering a chamber, up to a maximum of +3.
- Alternatively, the Dark Regeneration upgrade restores Health by 40% of any Darkness you collect per rank, up to a maximum of 80%.
- Sisyphus will offer to restore a portion of your Health as one of his options.
- Patroclus will offer HydraLite Gold as one of his options, which restores 30% Health when entering a chamber, for 5 times.
- Harpy Feather Duster, a keepsake from Dusa, grants a 2, 3 or 4% chance that destroyed urns will contain healing food.
- Athena's boon Last Stand can increase the amount of Health restored by Death Defiance.
- Dionysus's boon After Party restores Health to a certain threshold, if your health is low after an encounter.
- Hermes's boon Quick Recovery lets you recover some % of Health lost after taking damage by Dashing immediately afterwards.
- Demeter's boon Nourished Soul restores a portion of Health and increases the potency of any further Health in the run.
- Poseidon's boon Sunken Treasure drops some healing food items. This boon can be obtained multiple times in a run.
- Using Companion Shady will drop some healing food items.
- Some Weapon Aspects and Daedalus Hammers give Life-stealing abilities to weapons but come with penalties to health.

As you can see, you're being too quick to judge.

Thanks MC for the info.
Game is beautiful, the art, the aethetics, the dialogue but its crap for me.
How does one make progress when he just goes back to the beginning?

My fault that i thought this was a hack slash diablo genre.
Im going to go see where i can get a refund.

Every time you die and get sent back you'll be able to upgrade yourself a little bit, so that eventually you're strong enough to do it all in one go. But despite it's grindy nature it is intended to be a skill based game, unlike diablo hack and slashers

You make progress by acquiring permanent upgrades from the Mirror in your room. Dying is the only way you'll be able to get stronger, that's the whole point of roguelites.

No matter though. If this is too much for you or something, then go ahead and ask for a refund.

Each individual run will get you more meta-resources. Meta-resources can be used on upgrades to make future runs easier. A single run itself can take ~20-50 mins depending on player skill. A lot of the game is also learning how to counter enemies and avoiding damage.

Once you get everything unlocked you easily blaze through low difficulty runs with ease. Good players should go on lengthy win streaks at this point.

Hades is a Rouge-like, not a Diablo clone.

Thanks MC. I spend 45 minutes and totally lost the taste to ever play this game.
Even though its beautiful, i'd still give it 1 out of 10 rating. Looked fun ! My fault i got fooled by the "overwhelmingly positive" community reviews/responses.

Hope they give me a refund.
I've played dota 2 alot and it takes some time for my fingers and hands to hurt but this game made my hands hurt in 45 minutes of gameplay.

Good luck to you.

Hope other people will read first or find a youtube video of this game explaining to people "WHEN YOU DIE, YOU GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME" instead of seeing believing too much of "overwhelmingly positive" ratings from the community.

Not to sound rude or anything, but there are two tags under the game that literally say "Action Rogulike/Roguelite".

Its my fault A bird. I wasnt aware of this genre.

Even they had life steal, life leech or life regen mechanics to help you stay in the game, stay in that level or room rather than starting from the beginning, it would be a different story.

Later guys. Thanks everyone

"Hades is a god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler" is literally the first sentence in the description. OP, if you didn't know the game genre, you absolutely only have yourself to blame.

And to your most recent post, there is a giant paragraph just a few posts up describing 17 different ways of healing.

Going back to the beginning of the game is kind of how all rogue-likes work. I'd suggest doing a little research before buying a game so you understand what you're actually buying. Hades has a great review score because people like it as a game in the rogue-like genre.

Anyways, good luck with refund. If you've played less than 2hrs I believe there should be no issues with getting it.

Yup ! After 45 mins of total gameplay steam issued a refund i requested.

Thanks Chris !
You know, it's absolutely understandable to mess up a purchase due to not reading the entire store page and not being aware of a genre, but it's not okay to suddenly blame the game itself for that when that's completely on you. That's like buying a toaster oven and complaining that it looked like a grill to you yet didn't grill anything, so that makes it a bad product. Saying you think a game is a 1/10 which, while a bit much, is normally fine since it's an opinion, but you're literally giving it that score because of YOUR mistake.

If you don't think the game's good that's fine, but docking points because of something on your end is insanely disingenuous. You're free to have criticisms, but that doesn't include saying "screw this game and I even paid for this crap". Also that last line seems to just be there to incite anger, the review box is literally right there underneath the screenshots on the store page.
