Big plus is that I believe bindings are re-mappable on either scheme. Though, I haven't had the need to verify that myself.
For my part, I'm in the controller camp for these isometric action games.
The melee weapons are are basically not impacted at all and they are also generally faster (dps wise) than ranged ones.
If you intend to play mostly with ranged weapons however I'd say mouse aiming just feels better.
Considering you'll most likely use both though, just go with what you're comfortable with. Unless you wanna do speedruns or challenge runs, the difference is marginal enough that you should just go with what you like.
As someone who only plays m+kb on any game, even I have to admit though that if you get higher on difficulty, you'll really wish you had just that little extra control over where you end up after a dash. (Looking at you EM learnie).
So if you have absolutely no preference and are fine with learning either, go controller as it will pay off on the long term.
I play with keyboard & mouse and didn't notice any problems. Controller users may have an advantage when trying to move in a direction in-between the 8 directions that keyboard controls offer - but I'm not sure how much of an impact that would actually have.
The game allows key rebinding and gives you several options (e.g. whether you want to attack or dash in the direction of your keypresses, or in the direction of the mouse cursor). The implementation of kb&m controls is solid and wel-polished, I'm confident you'll find settings that you're comfortable with.
I use whichever is better depending on the game, and on this game you want to use a controller.
On some games I use both, and pickup the controller for things like driving, but drop the controller and use mouse and keyboard when that becomes the better option.
You're probably just bad at using a keyboard if you think this. Even speedrunners have no issues using keyboard, and certain actions like aiming dash attacks in the opposite direction of the dash are only possible with KBM.
