I can't say for sure, but I have heard it rumoured that it's not the number of runs that's important, but the actual number of interactions with the lyre prop. So you might progress the story faster by clicking it 5 times, or 10, between each run instead of just once.
Buy the lyre
Play it at least once (possibly a few times?)
Get dialog from Orpheus where he gives pointers
Play lyre approximately 100 times until you get proper music
Get dialog from Orpheus about how you've improved
I have all of those and it's still not fulfilled, and Zag keeps saying how he needs more practice.
I dunno if any runs are required at all, but I was doing about 30 plays at a time between runs and it just turned to the improved music riffs (you'll know the difference, they're like 4-8 seconds long and not just a strum or two) after several in a row. Definitely wasn't the first one after completing a run or anything.
