Zeus' ionic gain boon needs a buff
Hestia's hearth gain(common) allows you to restore 7 magick/s with health reduced by 20%. Zeus' ionic gain(common) restores 4 magick/s with magick reduced by 70%.

So if you start with 50/50 health and magick, with Hestia's boon, you get 40/50 health/magick + 7 magick/s. Meanwhile, with Zeus' boon, you get 50/15 + 4 magick/s.

In a game where you can have shields over your health but can only prime your magick, this doesn't seem fair. It's easy to get negative magicks if you have ionic gain boon and prime magick. Zeus' boon would be more balanced if it reduced magick by 30% and restore magick faster.

Also, it would be great if you can still use your primed magick but it just disables your boon.

There are two scenarios:

1) no primed magic.
2) primed magic.

In 1) think Ionic Gain is good and balanced.
In 2) however it gets pretty tough. Especially with Zeus' own Static Shock. There's also a Fear modifier that primes magic for boons.

I'd settle for 50% (I agree that 70% is too much, especially considering the starting Magick and the Priming mechanic, which is most noteable via the Oath of the Unseen, as well as one of Chaos' banes), as then I could at least have enough unprimed Magick to reliably use one Omega move.

I totally agree, especially with the negative magick part. I don't really understand how the current mechanism of Ionic Gain and prime boons like Static Shock work. It seems like the system processes Ionic Gain before prime boons. For example, if I originally have 200 magick and I take Static Shock and Ionic Gain, I would end up with (200 * 0.3) - 50 = 10 magick left. This basically means I can't use any Omega move. It feels like taking Ionic Gain is a punishment, not a boon. I think the system should process Ionic Gain after other prime boons, which would be much more appropriate. Using the previous example, the remaining magick would become (200 - 50) * 0.3 = 45, which is more reasonable.

The one thing I'll say about this is that possibly that 70% reduction is designed to allow a path to a build for constantly proccing Zeus's "Spirit Surge": "While you have no more than 10 Magick, all foes are occasionally struck by lightning" (does about half the damage of Storm Ring but hits everything). With low base mana, the 70% reduction, and maybe some primed mana if needed, you could theoretically end up in a scenario with a zero-mana, no omega moves build that is constantly lightning striking all enemies. All you'd have to do is run around and dodge while everything melted, use non-omega attacks and specials as you can.

But I don't think there's any question that in isolation, outside of a really specific build, Hestia's mana regeneration boon is miles better. I can't say I've tried this highly theoretical build myself. But it sure sounds interesting.
