A couple of thoughts on weapons and their Aspects
These are just some musings on what I like and don't like about weapons and their Aspects. FIrst, the weapon where I think the Aspect combination is the best: Sister Blades. Mel has a general bonus, Artemis buffs Omega attack, Pan is all about Specials, especially Omega. That's great.
That's Tier 1 for me.
Skull is also good, though here the general bonus is on Medea(with a major gamestyle change), attack buff is on Mel and Persephone has another general bonus but also improves Omega Special. Still Tier 1, maybe 1.5 because of how different Medea is from other Aspects, I'd say this is the level of difference Hidden Aspects had in Hades 1.
Tier 2:
Black Coat. Mel improves speed specifically for attacks, Selene and Nyx have special effects. No Special improve from Aspects.
Axe. Mel and Than improve mostly attack, though Than gives also Omega bonus and Mel general HP bonus. Charon improves Omega Special. That's not a bad combination, but Axe really needs a Special rework...
Tier 3:
Staff. All the Aspects are about Omegas. No Aspect makes a normal attack/special better, or at least gives you incentives to use Omega Special over Omega Attack (or visa versa).
Flames. Now, on paper, it seems like Skull: Mel improves Omega Special, Eos improves Omega Attack and Moros adds a special interaction between Attack and Special. The problem, at least for me, lies in the fact they all have different Omega Attack pattern.
Mel can just spam Omega Attacks. Eos stops channeling after launching a single Daybreaker Omega Attack. And Moros either leaves attacks lingering around and blocking other attacks until you clear them out with a Special or makes them close combat explosions if you use Omega Special. Where the Staff aspects are too similar in the sense they all built around Omegas, Flames Aspects are too different from one another.

The Umbral Flames are in the biggest need of a rework indeed (e.g. the Omega Special is the worst Omega move out of all of the main Omega moves across all weapons).

Yes, I have this feeling too but I felt like it is a bit subjective. Even on Mel Aspect I still don't find it worth it to use Omega Special. It is usable on Moros Aspect, but only because it explodes attack right away. It is just too expensive to use.

I'm still hoping for an aspect/weapon/hammer that boosts your cast. I know that the staff makes your omega cast faster and that the axe can increase your cast duration but the cast builds I use rely on your cast expiring fast, not lasting longer.

Well, Staff in Momus Aspect makes your Omega cast hit 3 times. Axe in Charon Aspect makes an Omega cast out of the normal cast and improves it in general, which is why it increases cast duration.
But generally IMO weapons should not affect cast, because it is Mel's intrinsic ability.

I would say there is direct contradictory evidence to this line of thought though. In Hades 1 we had Hera aspect which loaded casts into a ranged shot and the Poseidon aspect which knocked Zag's cast off of enemies sooner. While this may not be implemented ultimately I don't see anything wrong with it. If anything I think I do side more with Kumoni on something else being added to boosting cast might be fun.

While that staff aspect will repeat your omega cast it wont repeat the boons that would usually trigger with an omega cast. Taking this will increase your damage by a bit since it'll do the casts while you're waiting for your cast to be ready again so for now it's the best but also the only option for cast builds.
