Hades II
About the aspect of the magic staff "Momus"
Haire, Supergiants!

As we know in Greek mythology, Momus was the personification of satire and mockery.

In Hades 2, there is an aspect of Melinoe's magical staff, which bears the name of this god. The staff itself in aspect is entwined with a snake with a ball. It has the ability to restore health under certain conditions.

And this property, as well as the appearance, in no way suits the god of slander.

I think I understand why you made this god the patron of one of the aspects. The point is probably that Momus is Nyx's son. And therefore close to the chthonic gods. But the aspects include more than just the Nyx's children. Relatives of Helios are also present here - Medea, Circe, Eos. That is, everyone having either chthonic origin or associated with witchcraft.

But a completely different god was responsible for healing in Ancient Greece - the son of Apollo, Asclepius, who, in fact, carried a staff with a snake entwined around it. Just look at the emblem of the World Health Organization.

I suggest either changing the appearance of this staff (for example, the pommel could be a jester’s cap) and properties, for example, let it give some kind of negative state (mockery).

Or rename the aspect itself to the aspect of Asclepius, which also has chthonic roots in the image of a snake, and through Father Apollo - to witchcraft and predicting the future.

A jester cap sounds like millenia of christianisation later ...

Given that aspect is also the one with healing if i remember correctly, a rename seems better.

I agree that a change would be a better solution and less costly in terms of production of the issue. And the staff really does heal.

But as for the jester's cap, it makes some sense. Firstly, if you remember in Hades 1, aspects of weapons were presented by Enkindu, King Arthur and even Lucifer. That is, time reference is not a strict condition.

Secondly, as Moros once said: the aspects embody not only weapon owners from the past, but also weapon owners from the future. This is why we have the Moros aspect of the torches - he will wield them in the future.

Thirdly, Momus himself, in the era of Renaissance and classicism, became a very popular character in the theater and was portrayed there as a classic jester. With classic cap

After all, in the Fields of Sorrow, no one is bothered by the remains of Gothic cathedrals

This. It also explains the aspect better than associating it with Momus.

Related: anyone feel like the Aspects of Artemis and Pan feel backwards in their character? In the original game, Artemis had all sorts of seeking powers, which is what the aspect of Pan does; and the aspect of Artemis has a sort of "freak out" riposte mechanic more befitting that of Pan.
