The new Pets

So, just came back to try the game again after quite a long break (I played it quite a bit at release but then decided to wait for a while to play it again).

So I didn't even know there were new pets until I kind of accidentally saw there was an achievement thing for unlocking 3 pets.

Searched the forum for how to unlock them, had already done 3 runs in the underground so was a little surprised when it said that both were unlocked down there since I never met them.

Then I did see the dog once but yeah, couldn't do anything the first time obviously, have now done 5 more runs down there and still haven't seen the Raven at all and the dog is hiding somewhere I guess cause I've not met it again.

So my question is, is it supposed to take this long? Also, where exactly is the raven? Pretty sure I unlocked the area in the first Act where I thought it was supposed to be in, but not 100% sure now.

Raki is in the Erebus fountain room, which is a completely random occurrence. You need to find him twice to tame him.

Hecuba will show up a few times in the same place, but cannot be bonded with until after you have all three of the other familiars and meet some other trigger people aren't entirely sure about (which likely involves using all three), then get dialogue from Hecate in the Crossroads that grants permission to bond with her.

You just forgot to say that Hecuba is found at Echo's chamber, near the exit.

You CAN meet her before meeting Raki, but you can't bound until you've bounded with Raki.

Also you need to have treats with and unlock some dialogues with Hecate at the crossroads.

So what is the fountain room then? As in, is it a normal fight room or is it one of the rooms where you have the icon of like 2 hands (Not sure if that is what it is but in my head I call it 2 hands) meaning a person to talk to?

Edit: Oh ok...THAT fountain, thought it was like a room with a large fountain, but alright, the healing fountain =)

YES, exactly. You have to have the pet you haven't met to get the one you already have XD

(it took me a while to meet Raki twice in order to befriend it. But after I did, I just needed one more encounter with Hecuba so it was straightforward in a sense)

Anyone knows what the conditions are to get any pets?
I friend who plays the game and doesn't get any. He met a pet maybe two once or twice but never gets the incantation / progress.
