Hades II

Why do the devs want to jeopardise my runs?
First it's Eris, then it's Nemesis.

They want you to play it slow by nerfing dash and making 99.999% of all projectiles track you, and then they introduce Nemesis encounter, which 90% is completely in HER favourite and u can't win, compared to Than encounters in Hades 1, where to lose u need to actually do nothing. Nemesis taking YOUR doors and blocking them, taking boons from Charon's shop FOR NO REASON AT ALL is just plain stupid and destructive. What if i needed that boon but bought the pom first? well, GET ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bc devs thought that this is a good idea.

You did such a good story in Hades 1, you should know better how to make player love or hate a character. If this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was made so player will hate Nemesis - it was done stupid by stupid. There IS a better way of doing things.

I played 550 hours in Hades 1. all trophies, 32 heat EM4 40%FO with all aspects, did sub 10 on some weapons, grinded all ranks. I saw how the game prevents you from beating it fast, and it was fair: play some, loot some darkness, upgrade, beat bosses, get some titan blood, get aspects, learn to use dashes and how to read enemy attack animations beat more bosses. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like Eris "blessing", no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like taking boons from shops, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like unwinnable Nemesis encounters where u lose money just because, no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like vague attack animations which do not telegraph what the ♥♥♥♥ the boss is gonna do. Also like when big enemy's model block some projectiles from being seen, sooo fun)))

and i ma not even going to start talking about the grind of several billion different resources for no reason at all. Is this a open world survival game or a roguelike? IT IS NOT NECESSARY, NOR FUN.

Edit: really like how ppl defend this blatant mistake of a mechanic. "Yes, lets introduce a character that will create a Tight Deadlines in a chamber she randomly spawns for no benefit of a player, she will kill steal, move faster than a player, losing to her will result in -100 gold, and she also will block one door from being able to go through".
Can't wait to get one of those in the room with one door, a chaos gate and not enough health to go into one. Softlock my beloved.
"Skill issue lmao", "git gut", "i never lost one, what are u talking about" etc etc. NO comments on how to counter her, NO tips on how to win consistently.

Good sir, if you don't like the projectiles Hesita's dash is the boon for you, just deletes a large amount of them while dashing.

It can still be an issue if there's an Infernal Trove. I've had to give one up because Nemesis was about to steal a Daedalus Hammer.

Wow that's garbage. I don't care for Nem's interactions at all.

Quick tip to anyone else who hates them, for any non fight encounter where you see her, you are able to quit and reload the encounter if she does some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

In all my hours, I lost to Nemesis once. I am not considered very good at video games. So if they make it any easier, it will become a joke.

I always liked the Nemesis/Herakles encounters because it allows me to check the damage of my build. If I can beat them, then the build is pretty good, if not, the build needs some work. I had Herakles show up in the first door at Ephyra once, but I still one with the torches by focusing on the small mobs and last hitting wherever I could. Sometimes Nemesis beats me and sometimes she doesn't. I agree it feels bad when she is following you around for ks, but it sure does feel good when you win and get +100 gold on top of whatever the room reward was.

Nemesis encounters don't bother me at all and I have about a 50/50 win rate.
As for her taking a door, rarely does this destroy a run, it might make it slightly harder and even if she beats you, you can run ahead of her and take the door you want.

Hercules encounters i have closer to an 80% win rate and there isn't really any down side.

I don't mind most of Nemesis' interactions, but I hate that she locks you out of rooms. I lost a shop right before boss 3 once when I was loaded with money, and another time she forced me into a Chaos gate because her trade was in a one door room and I didn't realise until she'd locked me in and the gate was my only way out.

I didn't mind losing a hammer once, but the shop really hurt. And being forced into a health hit did not feel great.

Have you even followed her story?
There is a very good reason as to why she is doing what she is doing.
Also it puts pressure on the player, which is a good thing. When I encounter Nemesis, I need to adapt better, which means I am being challenged. Sure, Nemesis might have taken the shop item I wanted or the door I wanted, but then when you still manage to finish the run, you feel just a bit better because you showed Nemesis that you can do it.
If Nem took the boon you wanted, maybe you should have prioritised that one. You can see Nemeisis if she is in the shop, and if you do, you know you need to prioritise.

You claim to have beaten Hades 1 on Heat 32 EM4, so adapting your playstyle and prioritising should not be an issue, therefore I can not see how you would even have an issue with Nemesis.

Also if Nemesis kills faster than you, it IS a skill problem, because it is most certainly possible.

I also find it funny you complain about grinding mats, since you did the exact same thing in Hades 1, just in a slightly different way.

There is enough pressure as it is, thanks. It would make sense if her encounters appears as a Pact of Punishment element. If i beat the run - that means i beat the run. There is enough stuff that i dislike in *current* version of Hades 2 to also bear with Nemesis.

It is possible, HOWEVER half of weapons and boons work against you, because they are weak. So by taking those weapons or boons you are essentially guaranteed to lose. Diversity my ass.

I grinded ONE resource - darkness. And not for plot progression or upgrades, but for useless *ranks*. That's very different from Hades 2 progression. Also yes, you need exactly three resources for progressing Hades 1 upgrades - keys(very small amount), darkness (for the mirror) and titan blood (for the weapons). Remind me how much different ♥♥♥♥ i need in Hades 2 and how much of it can be bought from shop Shade?

Yay, Athena's dash 2.0, electic bogaloo.
But Athena is not required bc there is very little encounters where it really counts.
And then there is Hades 2, where 95% projectiles are heat-seeking Melinoe. Create the problem and create jank solution. Great!

What happened to sprinting and outrunning said projectiles? Sidestepping? Dashing through? Or are these also constitute as "jank solutions"?

The only time where Soot Sprint feels like a necessary tool is Eris fight, which I'm sure will be tweaked somewhere down the line. Otherwise, everything can be reliably avoided without any additional Boons or whatever else.

Besides, there's only so much projectiles that track you like crazy. For the most part, they either travel in a straight line or track you just so slightly. I don't know where you're getting that 95% from.

More news at 11, turns out she can also steal character rooms. Met her yesterday in Echo chamber, replacing Echo. Got health increase instead of the useful stuff Echo offers. Thanks Nemesis...
