Is "Storm Ring" supposed to be this cracked?

Common rarity, level 2, was only complimented by the "Lightning Lance" boon. End result - 120k total damage, first ever win against Chronos. Argent Skulls were also doing massive amounts of damage thanks to Hephaestus boons and Critical chance after dashing, but it's not even near - 30k from Specials, 30k from Blasts, 23k from Attacks.

Lesson learned, I suppose: never underestimate Zeus.

my like guaranteed winning strategy is to equip zeus keepsake, gun for storm ring at common rarity, finish first region while doing what I can to not get any other common boons, just boost storm ring level as much as possible, then swap to narcissus keepsake after the boss and guarantee storm ring to heroic, then every single boss just completely falls flat on its face. look for chaos gates too and look for cast damage increases since those scale the storm ring dmg, you can wind up having it to like 200+ damage per quarter second or more with other zeus stuff

and this has given me the opinion that weapons suck and everything revolves around your cast, so the best weapon is whatever makes your cast better

It can't be intended as it really over trivializes the difficulty. The game just started EA, there is a lot of balancing still to be done. Storm Ring will almost certainly need to be toned down.
