and it would satisfy all the players that are not able to play their favorite hero
Alas that Hades 1 and Hades 2 are actually independent games. I doubt the idea made it past pre-production tbh.

That said, what would be cool is if we encounter Zagreus in, say, Tartarus. That would help further connect the two games beyond the Olympians and such.

I think we should save Zagreus too — it would be great to play as him later. Imagine both brothers working together to save the Olympians and their family!

Imagine if when Chronos sends you back in time to Asphodel, instead of the "stay within in the lines"-game, you traverse Asphodel backwards, with the same enemies and stuff from Hades 1, when you reach the entrance, you get Zagreus as a boss instead of the sirens. Him ofc thinking you are someone sent by Hades to stop him reaching the surface. One can dream.

...or nightmare, if you will 😉

It's an incredibly cool idea, but there's no chance Mel (without being influenced) would raise a hand to Zag.

Mel knows what he looks like, she's already met her dad a billion times in the Underworld, she's grieved and brooded over her family portrait featuring adult Zag.

It would be almost better if Zag is possessed or under the influence and doesn't understand he's fighting his kid sister, and the whole time you're playing keep away or using environmental hazards and things in the level to slow down and stop Zag.

Think of it as similar to the fight against the King Vermin in the Underworld, you're using traps and things to create distance and stop Zag, versus hurting him.

I like that a lot more than murdering your beloved bro.

I think the important thing is Zag not understanding who he's fighting, and chalking it up to his fathers tricks.

They could tie some cool story beats to it, with Mel first refusing, and getting killed by Zag. Returning trips has her trying to convince him while also fighting back to get to Chronos.
