Hades II

Hades II

Yes, Hecate...
...lesson learned...

The axe is useless, the two blades are useless, the staff is useless.

The two torches are the only good weapon, so far.

Sister blades with Pan Aspect and Staff with Momus aspect.

Both very powerful and play somewhat in opposite ways;
Pan with want to come close, drop the circle and charge the special.

With Momus you go in, leave everything you have, and go away letting the lingering attacks do their jobs.
So far I've managed with EVERY weapon. They all have their pros and cons, no question, but I've gotten to the final boss with every weapon so far, multiple times. I don't know what's wrong with you, but I don't think your statement is correct or sensible, sorry.

Nah. I say you just lack the patience when using the weapons.
I like to have mobility and range.

The torches don't slow me down as I can attack while moving around.

Combined with burn the torches become pretty much unbeatable in terms of damage per second... at least from my experience.

I curb-stomped Scylla in under three minutes with the torches.

Have you considered spacing and not mashing

Zorephet my beloved :zagwow:
I personally find the torches boring. Not bad at all, at least with the daybreaker aspect. Just boring to use.

Anyway, and with respect, I will suggest to not mistake "I don't like it/don't know how to use it" with "it's bad".

When I said "useless", I meant useless to me and my play style.

I find the torches to be the best weapon, so far.

One quesiton then: why do you make this post?
You did not specify "for my playstyle" in it, you just claimed those weapons are useless...

Don't you think you need to write what you mean, not doing posts like that?

There are definetly some weird weapon varians which are hard to make use of. But no weapon is completely useless. More than that, after having 91 hours total, on both older and newer versions, I can tell you that torches in average might actually have one of the lowest DPS in the game. Not because it's a bad weapon, but because safer weapons are usually having lower damage to balance out.

That's why with some luck on boons you can lower Hecate HP to her first shield phase with twin blades faster than she can finish her first AOE-circle attack, for example. High risk - high reward.
Moros torches actually have the best DPS in the game in chamber 1, though (although they require setup with omega special unlike Medea, which is close), and with a Blitz special remain among the best for the entire game. Pan will surpass them if it hits its perfect build, but Moros damage is actually pretty stupid.

Even Mel Torches also surpass staff and blades for raw DPS once they get to omega attack, largely because for some reason these weapons have way too much power locked behind select hammers (Wicked Thrasher and Mirrored Thrasher, Wicked Onslaught and Final Slice).

I thought the same thing. That was, until I turned off the I wanna go fast and merc part of my brain. As soon as I did, I seen the benefit of all weapons. Slow down and take your time and you may end up liking one of them.

Bonk ax actually has some really good hammers to make its single, slow attack annihilate everything in its hitbox in a single blow & you don't have to get hit on every attack or dodge for 10 years before you make one. The charge attack is also huge DPS.
Twin swords default have a lot of their damage scaling locked behind backstabbing, which will happen automatically on special or charge attack, but learning the system for how to keep enemies stunlocked so you can do it on regular attacks will prevent it from feeling super slow.

Hold button to win while dodging is a safe & reliable strategy, but it's not the only one. Burn without duo boons is also hard capped on its DPS.

I've tapped out the nightmares on 4 of the weapons at this point & torches were my favorite weapon early on, but got boring & now I really like the play patterns that ax & skull ask of me even though they're significantly less safe.

lol i hate the two torchs (i can't see s..t of what is happening on screen whith them and all the visual noise) and my favorites are the two blades and the axe.
but maybe i should try them mouse keyboard because on pad the choices of targets from the autolock with the torchs often drive me crazy.
