Help with playing the Aspect of Eos
I have this weird dilemma with the Eos Torches. I have fun playing them and they're clearly very strong, but for the life of me I can NOT beat the surface with them. For some reason when I use the Torches I find myself getting hit a lot more often than when I use other weapons. Maybe it's because of the slippery movement you have while charging omegas? Or maybe the torches' screen pollution just makes things hard to see? But then I thought that there may be something fundamentally wrong with how I play the torches. Usually I just switch between running through enemies while my specials are up and spamming attacks from a distance. Is there a "correct" way to play the Torches that I'm missing? Any advice on how best to use them would be appreciated!

Did you know the daybreaker launches copies of your special attack?

With origination and a combo of zeus/hera/demeter/hestia on atk/spec this can auto apply the 50% damage buff from a distance. The ai for db has been buffed, but could probably use a bit more tinkering. It can be a lot of fun to play though sometimes it does stupid actions.

I flip flop on which torches I do better with, but I always use Eos or Moros for sure.

At high fear the mana consumption can be tedious and where I think Moros does a bit better. I try to use hestia's gain since torches can toss out attacks so quickly. Demeter's gain is awful for torches. Hera's or Aphrodites would probably be my other recommendations.

The surface is still an overtuned slog. I am personally convinced the next big patch will ease the tension and difficulty by a reasonable or possibly dramatic amount.

Good luck!
Yes, I do know about the day breaker. I usually try to get as much out of it as possible. I haven't tried using originator on torches before. I'll have to see if I can't make a build around that. Also yeah, the daybreaker's AI tends to make it float away while I'm waiting for more mob spawns and then it doesn't come back. I tried using Moros but I felt as if I could never quite position myself right to get those BIG bursts of damage. So I've been sticking to Eos since its easier to use.
Origination and strength together do a lot of heavy lifting dps wise.

Eos is probably the weakest of the three torch aspects when it comes to damage, since it lacks the consistent DPS of Mel omega attack or Moros everything. But they do have the advantage of allowing you to affect a lot of space at once.

General torch gameplay is to turn on an omega special (always for Moros, only if you have a status curse like Blitz or Hitch on it for Mel), then go in with your attacks to maintain a stagger. Mel torches like to space out for a lot of safety, while Moros likes to go in so attacks detonating on the omega special double-hit. Eos has a very flexible playstyle: it always immediately summons the Daybreaker, but then it can choose whether to fight the same enemy with Mel, position her freely, turn on one or more omega specials, and use either the attack or special for further damage. (Regular special builds are Triple Comet only, and Triple Comet is only pickable on Eos. It's a garbage move otherwise. Getting six projectiles per button press is just enough to make it decent.)

All three torch aspects value attack channel speed extremely highly. Pretty much every attack boon except Hephaestus is workable, but Blitz and Hitch are especially strong. Scorch works decently well on Mel torches as well, but is less desirable for the other two (too slow to deal damage for Moros, while Eos doesn't do the best job of applying it since it can't use the faster omega attack speed). Aphrodite can work on Eos as well, if you're willing to stay close to the Daybreaker. Zeus is the #1 special, generally, but other specials that apply curses work well too, Poseidon is OK, and Hephaestus is fine if you just want to pop the special occasionally for an AoE burst.
Thanks for the breakdown! I'll try blitz or hitch on the special and combine that with Origination and Strength. I might try going back to Aspects of Mel and Moros too, just to see if I can't find a specific build I like a lot. Thanks again!
