I can't beat him at 32 tho
I told myself I wouldn't try 32 fear because I want to continue enjoying the game, so maybe I'll wait for them to tune it.
32 Fear Typhon is pretty challenging for me. Or at least the Surface route is. Honestly, it's the mid-bosses that mess me up. Can't find a Fear set-up that doesn't involve adding those awful extra enemies to the mid-boss fights!!
I do use one level of Frenzy. I've been doing it with +20% enemy HP but without +20% enemy damage. Underworld route, I avoid increasing enemy HP as much as possible. And with how beefy Typhon and his eggs are, you think I'd avoid it... But I dunno. There are so many massive chunky sources of damage in the 4th biome that the 20% extra damage really adds up. If I'm not at full health by Typhon, I don't feel safe. I pretty much always go Strength and take a double heart room in the first biome, and aggressively take Chimera Hearts.
I also rely on shops for boons more than doors thanks to Vow of Forsaking. It's much easier to get gold on the surface,I find.
If you want an easy 32 Fear clear, try Aspect of Momus on staff or Aspect of Pan on knives. They're safe and do crazy damage.
For Typhon's attacks themselves, either you need to get really good at reacting to the head slam and getting away, or you can stand away from him until he starts another animation (look for growths on his body indicating he's starting one of the projectile attacks) before going in. The projectiles are not exactly easy to dodge, so it's probably better to just get used to doing Frenzy head slams.
