There is one other thing that's rather bad but it's more about design: There are several rooms where Mel's entrance makes her WALK INTO DAMAGE-ON-CONTACT ENEMIES. If you don't move the EXACT FRAME that you're in control, you've taken damage.
Plus, its SGG's pattern.
First it was Strife, then Prome, now Typhon. They always make the 'last' boss hard. They'll nerf it later when there's another 'last boss' or progression in the game. This is just to stop everyone from over farming and getting bored too fast. I remember Rift of Thessaly was annoying as hell to get through.
Exactly this.
Honestly, Olympus was way way worse!
There are some tricky parts on the Summit, especially the mid-bosses, but it's more a matter of getting used to it.
(EDIT: I have no idea how my auto-corrector had written "sun-bosses" LOL)
Speak for yourself laddy. If you get annoyed by words that's a you problem. The point is to encourage to get tbetter at the game. So what if it's hard? git gud.
Still, the "git gud" thing has gotten pretty boring a long time ago, and still seeing people spamming it like it's burning in their fingers feels pretty sad, cause after all, even if "true", in the end it's a pretty toxic attitude, flooding forums without giving any feedback and I personally find it pretty cringe on the part of the sender. But I tend not to enjoy people who show the emotional intelligence of a brick (or a potato in this case), so...
On topic, it's true that the new zone can feel hard, but I also think the previous zone was much harder at launch. Maybe try with different weapons, boons, and of course learning the new enemies patterns. Good luck next time, and try to focus on learning & enjoying that learning experience
I agree with everything you said.
Unfortunately some people are really not worth arguing with.
While there are some great people in these forums, there are some toxic ones that make you wish that that meteor hits the Earth sooner than later.
To get a sense of boss difficulty, maybe we could use a simple 1-10 scale (10 being hardest). Let's not include fear levels, that complicates things, let's only discuss the base boss encounter difficulty.
Maybe it would it be something like:
Chronos (3-4 difficulty)
Prometheus (6-7 difficulty)
New final boss (9-10 difficulty)?
That would make sense in terms of game progression, Prometheus imo is considerably harder than Chronos.
Hey Neo. I 100% agree with this, I'm not sure what the solution is, either, I think it's just a necessary evil of using the Steam forums. :(
Yup. I remember when Chronos used to be at around a 7-8, when Hades II very first released. Even then his style didn't compare to Typhon! The new final boss is a visual mess — it's confusing to know what will cause damage, and perhaps when as well. This, on top of over-the-top attack speed and especially damage.
If even Prometheus is (still!) harder than the final boss of the Underworld, then that's a sign of an unbalanced game. I get that the Surface route is supposed to be the "harder" one, but even I had to use God Mode just on the Summit just to survive, and I've gotten to the point of being able to take little to no damage from Chronos on most runs now.
