Hades II

Hades II

Nexus Sprint + Aspect of Nyx: surprisingly disappointing?
I thought there would be a good synergy here, but hitch almost never triggered, even if I ran right into my target. It ended up being a lot easier to use Engagement Ring, but that wasn't the build that I was going for. Anyone else see this?

I've had much better luck with Nexus Sprint triggering with literally every other weapon, so it feels like maybe this aspect is interfering with the boon?

Hera in general doesn't seem all that great a god to get boons from...but I'm hardly an expert at the most meta of hades builds lol.

Can't believe you dissed my girl. I have no choice but to deliver an over-explanation...

Hera's one of the best, seriously. I am always hoping to get Hera, and it's only really her and Aphro whose keepsakes I'll use to force their appearances.

Nexus Sprint is the best of the Hitch boons since it allows you to quickly hit every enemy in the room, and once they're all Hitched you can quite often kill everything in a second or two (assuming your damage is scaled correctly against the enemies' levels, of course). Extend Hitch with the supplementary boon and pom it well for more damage, and it goes heavy. In the early game, even a Lv 1 Common version is going to kill the smaller enemies in one or two hits, and unlike Zeus and Poseidon's sprints it costs no magick.

Born Gain is the best of the magick regens, as long as you raise your magick enough to cover the priming otherwise you'll run out during Guardian fights, but it's worth it to not have to run around after bubbles.

Her Legendary is amazing too. It's always variable depending on which gods' Infusions you get, but it's rarely anything less than a huge jump in your power. It's wise to dig every seed, assist every shade, and gather every fish and mineral whether you want to or not, because there's a chance of an Element every time and you want to make sure you have high stocks of those in preparation for the Infusions (and of course, if you don't have enough Elements then you have to choose boons with the right Elements from that point on to awaken the Infusions.

She has an unusually high proportion of good Duos (especially Golden Rule if you have Hermes and Poseidon in your run — Golden Rule + Sea Star + Ocean's Bounty + Quick Buck gets you into thousands of damage per hit), and she has her own Infusion to raise any Commons you're holding to Rares. . On top of that, she has a basic boon that gives you damage bonuses for having no Commons.

man all of that....feels like I've barely scratched the surface of this game lol....but I also think that's kinda why I like both Hades and it's sequel so much. You can be fairly successful whether you dive deep into the meta or just quickly put together things that kinda work.

Nexus sprint worked for me fine, second best sprint for this aspect. The best is poseidon I think.

I agree strongly that Hera is excellent. Especially for room clearing. Her boons really shine in Tartarus where the rooms are small and you can hit a lot of enemies at once. That's why I was excited to try using Nexus Sprint with Xinth's Nyx aspect, but I just couldn't get it to tag anything, and certainly not before I ran into things and triggered the Omega Sprint damage.

I've personally never liked Nexus Sprint because the AoE on it is teeny-tiny, but Hitch itself is very strong with anything, since it straight-up multiplies your total damage.

Also, it wasn't entirely clear if you realized this or not, but Nexus Sprint does not deal any damage if the target already has the Hitch status, unlike other damaging sprints, which have no similar restrictions.
