I did a lot better when I swapped out Death Defiance(s) for the Strength arcana, that made a big difference. I also just focused on mastering one weapon (Moonstone axe for me) and that made it less daunting. Everyone has their preference, I'd say if you have the Black Coat, that's an excellent high fear weapon and very forgiving for avoiding damage.
I'd also recommend searching the Steam forums for Songbird's posts, he does a good job of explaining how to overcome high fear using different builds/weapons. Actually he's the one who helped me break into high fear.
Good luck
All hail Xinth!
If you want to join the Supergiant or Hades 2 Speedrunning Discord, you can look for Tidus69, who has cleared surface on 50 fear with every aspect and is really good at this fight. (Part of his strategy is to always start with Mental Block and use it as a parry for the worst moves.) He has recordings, but they're all unlisted on Youtube, so you need to get the direct links from here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Ivfhuer7AyLxQXPIuvLRGigui5-Z2G-gEFk3xWBir4
I tend to follow general speed run rules: never use fear that add mobs, increase hp, etc. Let them hit harder and be faster, but make sure they die as close to zero fear as possible.
Just my 2 cents.

Nice, congrats!
Thanks! I haven't had the time to really dive into the Olympus update since it dropped, but after getting a steam deck this week I have been able to get some extra hours into the game and getting closer to the 400 hour mark now.
Absolutely loving all the changes since I played last. The gods are all feeling a lot weightier and more satisfying, Xinth is a blast, etc. I forgot who it was awhile back that was part of the anti-wokez crowd that said Hera is garbage tier, but man, she feels great every time I pick her up to this day. Heph is also feeling better than ever, so it is an ongoing testament to the quality and expertise SuperGiant bring to the table every game.
Can't wait for 1.0.
Oh and I rearranged my Vows. I can't recall everything but ditching Return was a huge help.
Nice! I did a Melinoe aspect Black Coat run and got my Heph special rockets down to the minimum delay (2 seconds) with the help of a bunch of Poms and then Echo. It was glorious.
