If the font spawns in the middle of a bunch of enemies, it can be incredibly hard to use safely.
If it spawns right next to an interactable prompt (digging spot, reward you can't take yet, fishing spot, etc.), often the prompt for these will take priority and make it incredibly hard to actually pick up the magic refill. (Hopefully this gets patched...)
And it's only once per x seconds and can require going out of your way to get.
Basically, it has the pro of being a full refill and thus can be used without having to stop channeling for a while for builds that only use omega moves, should you be able to actually reach the orb without leaving the fight. It has the con of still requiring you to likely stop fighting sometimes (unlike, say, Hestia or Aphrodite's regen with a mixed build/with possessed array, or Apollo's in a melee build), and having a cap on how often you can use it. It can probably be workable for any build with enough max magic, but some of the other boons might still be better because they could just infinitely sustain you while you fight, without going out of your way.
It is definitely miles better than the old version that just absolutely hamstrung any build that wanted to use magic constantly, though, since it just didn't function with the way you can't benefit from regen/second while channeling or with your omega cast active, so you'd use like one omega move and then sit uselessly for a bit.
Currently, if you pom a boon, the magic primed by Vow of Arrogance will no longer be primed starting in the next room. As long as you're not taking tons of high-rarity boons, you do still end up with enough magic reserves to use magic. (Getting a good magic regen boon to begin with can be an issue with how few boons you can spare, though.)
this one, i need to hunt around for the font on a big map, run to it, activate (slow and vulnerable). the other one just gave me massive regen and i knew i had to farm up my max to compensate for the reduction
it's fine as a feature, i don't rely on Gain anyway, but my immediate thought was "put it back", lol. i guess a of of people didn't like the old one though
It was literally the smallest regen of all gains.
This, however, just gives you back your entire manapool with each activation.
