Hostage Situation - How The F***?
So I've played a bit of most of the modes in-game, and I honestly do not understand how you get a high score on this one.

Basically, the suspects have several civilians taken hostage, and the moment you make even a single microaggression, every civilian is immediately shot:

- Suppressed weapons alert enemies.

- Grenades would likely alert them too, but I haven't tested those. EDIT: Stingers and Flashbangs do alert hostiles, but apparently CS Gas does not.

- Getting spotted at all is instant failure, because the moment they fire, you guessed it, all the civilians are killed.

I was attempting to do the Gas Station mission in SP, and I honestly just don't get how I'd manage to keep every single civilian alive. The entire area is extremely open save for the small area in the middle, and the one entrance on the side to that area can't be optiwand'd because it's a metal door. I wasn't even trying to go less lethal, which would be fifty times harder with these parameters.

Also, on a slightly less related topic, why does Gas Station Raid have ten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ civilians?

I think the only way to do it on the gas station is to get lucky and have them in the garage.

Even then, how would you do it? If you had your AI mates pop a stinger inside, would it stun everyone in there to buy enough time?
Suppressed mp5, cs-grenades and door wedges. That's how I've done the hostage missions.
In gas station hostages were in dining area. I cleared the garage and and deployed one team to the doors leading from street to dining area. Other team went in from the door on the garage side. Cleared the gas pump side last. Just don't let the enemy fire at you or they alert others.

Optiwand is still useful with metal doors. Peek the door and then use optiwand. You can also toss cs-grenades over the fence if needed.

Seems like the very first thing you should've tried, though.
Same thing with the active shooter situation in Gas Station, AI is dumb as ♥♥♥♥ so they all run towards the Active shooters (usually 2 of them) and they just die. I think devs should've paid more attention to the AI's behaviour before adding these mission types.

Ah, so gas grenades are the play, then? Would make sense since they're not particularly loud or detonate at all, for that matter.

Well, I think it's fairly obvious that stingers and flashbangs piss off people. I wasn't sure about gas, though. I'll have to give that a shot.
Maybe taser and shoot perpetrators on sight with it and hope they don't just shrug it off?

Are any guns silent? I don't know. Even silenced weapons don't really work. The TAC-700 and Tazer might be considered "quiet" but I'm not really sure.
