Hey there! Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. We are aware of some ALT+TAB issues released with today's build and already have a fix in the works. Details here:

ISSUE 1: In rare cases, the game can become unstable and crash when ALT+Tabbing between active windows while running in full-screen mode.

✔ Workaround: Set your game to run in windowed mode by enabling the ‘Run in Window’ option in the graphics settings panel, or avoid ALT+Tabbing while the game is open.

Game crashes when alt-tabbing

So I have twice now this evening had the game just crash/close on me while alt-tabbing. This is kinda frustrating. :/

this is old, if you alt tab during some processing (auto save, end turns, loading screens) you have a risk of the game crashing, it happens to other games too. I think the best solution is not alt tab =P.

mine dont, just tested now windowed or not. Update your drivers btw? think both companies pushed major ones yest for this and that new destiny or w/e

Crashes when I alt-tab

Not everytime - but sometimes. Windows freezes up - the program is not handling the windows events to switch from full-screen mode I suspect. Can't seem to kill process to regain normal operation, so fix is to sign out or reboot or hold power button.

edit: One time it was a "hard" crash, where can't even do ctrl+alt+delete and click sign out. Not even a bluescreen, but had to hit power button.

I have never had the issue in previous TW games (that I remember) and yes I did make sure to update my drivers. So this is quite annoying. Also annoying that it doesnt give me a crash error or nothing, it just shuts down the game.

Lots of us are having it. Same in TW:W2 recently. Does not seem to matter what os or hardware, AMD, Nvidia, win 11, win 10, 16 GB, 32 GB, and so forth.

Alt+Tab doesn't minimize game and causes game to become unresponsive

THE ISSUE I ENCOUNTERED (DESCRIPTION)

Alt+Tab causes the game to become unresponsive and I cannot minimize it or bring up another application.
If I Alt+Tab again the list of applications comes up but when I select one of them Total War: WARHAMMER III continues to occupy my entire screen.
Computer is still running fine because I can do things on my second monitor, I just cannot close the game or get it off my primary monitor.

• 25% of the Time that I Alt+Tab

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Here's how to reproduce the bug or issue step by step:

1. Launch Total War: WARHAMMER III.
   
2. Alt+Tab.
   
3. Game does not minimize. Lose control of the game (no response from clicking on anything).

EXPECTED RESULT

Forced to restart computer because I cannot close Total War: WARHAMMER III or get it off my screen.
