There's definitely something in the works, they're always working on the next game as well as doing ongoing DLC. But until there's an official announcement we don't know what it is.
Total War: Warhammer: Men o War: Warhammer Naval battles
Worst realistic case:
Medieval 3: Total War with utterly casualised and simplified mechanics all across the board
Best unrealistic case:
New original IP with new mechanics like creating your own troops with individual equipment
Worst unrealistic case:
Total War: Hyenas
Yep, i've clocked in 3 times the hours in it compared to WH3 now. Runs buttery smooth, none of this glitch fest. WH2 was same until back end of its cycle when it was optimized greatly. WH3 runs but burns a hole through my desk, campaign map still chugs regardless of the the temp fixes.
Battles and theme will vary on the person. I like Warhammer and nothing wrong with the power fantasy, i enjoy it for what it is, but its a breath of fresh air to go back to more simpler battles and using strategy (dynamic terrain, weather, elevation, terrain type, unit formations, unit abilities, weapon types, siege battles that are actually better... etc etc)
People just did not give it a chance, because of the Bronze Age timeframe.
Plus you would then have the crowd claiming that CA has run out of ideas if they are just redoing the same settings they have done previously.
Let me know when they release Rome 3: Total War and I'll be there. Or better yet, give me Empire 2 Total War without George Washington ninja-flipping around a battlefield.
