New to Kislev, how do I use Snow Leopards?
They just look so squishy on paper. Should I discard this unit or can it be effective somehow?

I don't think they are worth recruiting. Just use the summon skill if you want to use one.
They're mainly for skirmishing against large enemies, which is useful against lords like Skarbrand (or dragons). Against infantry or other groups of enemies yeah they're bad.

I don't have their stats off the top of my head, but they should be speedy, yeah? Generally when you get squishy, but speedy units, they're used for:

1. Chasing down units that are routing: Sometimes you break a strong unit, but it eventually recovers, having one of these chase it down prevents that recovery and can weaken it further or remove it from play entirely
2. Engaging ranged units: Most ranged units are fairly squishy and do poorly in melee, throw it at them and they can usually shred them up.
3. Flanking/cycle charging: If none of the above are in play as an option (or maybe you want more effective use for 2.), you can still get decent value out of using their speed to get around to the back of a unit (lower morale units are the more preferable target), charge it in for a bonus to it's attack stats, let it engage for about 10 or 15 seconds, and then pull it out. You rinse and repeat this process, it takes more focus and attention, but most of your other units probably won't be needing the same amount of attention.

I use them mostly as a distraction.

I use them when a lord or hero is fighting in a duel, make that a 2v1. They can usually get some good value nipping the flank :)

They're decent for om-nom-nomming enemy spellcaster and/or ranged heroes.

They are also good for chasing down routing characters (at least not those on flying mounts)

See that disband button? Yep, that's how you use 'em.

Feed them to your warbears?

They're actually really good at hunting down casters on horse mounts. They also do exceedingly well in killing cavalry models. They hard counter any form of chariot. They're also really good at flanking a enemy lord that's engaging your lord.

For their tier they are amazing unit's for their price.

Having just one really fast unit in your army is a game changer. You can distract or mess around enemy units and formations. That alone is worth it. (Plus other things people have mentioned)

Katarin and Ice Witches can summon one, so you don't need to have one in your army to take advantage of this unit. It's been a while since I played Kislev, but a good way to use the summon was to use it to pin AI units in range of ranged units. Other than that, Snow Leopards are great at pursuing skirmish cavalry, disrupting artillery and archers, hunting mages, and they can help take out large lords, heroes and other SEMs.

You don't. Only as a summon.

This. If you've already got a high mobility unit then throw em in the trash, but if not they can be useful as a misdirection tool.

I use em to chase down fleeing lords they're not meant to solo mobs of enemies like a big SE does. I once tried to run down Throgg with my mage mounted on a horse and throwing fireballs at him but he kept just ahead and regenerating and ran off the map. Retried the battle and sent my snow leopard and he took him down before he escaped. Had a Goblin shami mounted on a wolf and finally broke when he was down to half health. He had equivalent of a 300 yard head start before I sent my leopard after him. He almost escaped, almost. So yea I find leopards great if you use em right.
