Why is the rotting leviathan not called a promethean

Just curious as used to play original man o war when that was a thing. Wondered why the rotting leviathan is so small aswell as its name is wrong. Pretty certain Leviathan is the massive fish. Sure was explained when Vampire coast was released but didnt see anything myself.

the fish is a "black leviathan", the big crab is only called leviathan, or like in game rotting leviathan as soon as it is revived by a necromancer. These are lore tidbits of man'o'war.

The Promethean is a massive crab that is believed to live on the ocean floor, only coming to the surface to feed. Its tough carapace gives it protection from most attacks, while its tremendously powerful pincers can rip apart masts, sails and superstructure.

I see i may have misunderstood are you implying the small crabs are Promethean? Just the ones I reference destroy ships! personally would have loved for ship combat to be added to total war, some of the ships are seen but would love more. Am hoping for a eventual vampire coast update so could add more, even if just through events like the triton, or the sea dragons the dark elves use to drag their ships/castles.
