How to tone down a LL's shouting?
There is a particular LL whose voice I find rather grating, and would like to turn off.

The game's overall voice and sound work is fantastic, though, so I'd rather not turn off all sound.

This should be doable by turning down the 'speech' volume, I thought. But no, the LL is as loud and obnoxious as ever. Suggestions?

(The lord i object to is Valkia. Cool faction, cool character design, as such, but the voice barks are .. not great. Just emphatic nonsense, monotone, no humor. Admittedly, I read the book and she's basically lore accurate, but that doesn't make her easier to listen to.).

This was how it could be done for troops in wh2. So I assume a similiar approach would work for a legendary lord as well.

"Solution:
To stop the troop acknowledgements / voice acting when you select a troop:

Look in: C [most likely]:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Warhammer2\scripts\ preferences.script.txt
Open the preferences.script.txt in notepad and change...

/Change (voice over ("vo") from true to false like the following:
replace:
sound_vo_enabled true; # sound_vo_enabled <true|false>, vo sound enabled #
with:
sound_vo_enabled false; # sound_vo_enabled <true|false>, vo sound enabled #

Now you can enjoy Total Warhammer 2 without the annoying troop voices announcing / acknowledging that they are in fact troops and other superfluous silliness. Speech to 0 should mean speech to 0. Please change this CA. Thanks! You cannot measure how many people do not play because of annoyances like that... Better to allow them as an option... Great game otherwise. Thumbs up."

That looks good. I have to ask though, is there a way to stop just the faction leader (or LL's, or lords)' voice lines?

Sure, there is. Would require modding the game to disable them. But if you have the time to learn how to do it or you could request someone to do it in the modding section. I would think its a simple as making a mod that removes the lord(s) in questions text pointing it to the speech file that is normally associated with them. Just gotta download assembly kit and learn to use it. This should be a fairly simple mod I would think though once you find the table you're looking to change.

Excellent, thanks man. Not EXACTLY what I was looking for, but close enough. :)

Figure I can start a new campaign with Shouty McHornface later today.
