How do you use salamander / razordon hunting packs!?
Like what is it with these guys? everytime I use them they just suck so bad. They always get stuck on everything, they trip up over themselves trying to get into formation, they take 2 hours to actually fire at anything even when I keep spamming the attack command and they are just a nightmare to micro I look away for 5 seconds and a bunch clanrats have just demolished them. Razordons don't seem as bad but the salamanders are just the worst.

I really like the Lizardmen but these two units give me literal headaches, can someone please explain to me how your actually supposed to use them? Thank you.

They're flankers, bring em around to the sides of a melee engagement and let em rip, back works too, but sides are better. They just barely have enough skill in melee to take care of most low tier ranged units, so you can also charge em into stuff like skavenslave slingers.

Salamanders are better against units with low armor, like most skaven chaff, and razordons are supposed to be better against armored units. Don't bring a lot though, I wouldn't bring more than four in an army.

Oh ok I just always put them in the back of my armies because I assumed they were supposed to be like a better skink javelin I never thought about using them like flankers I'll try that next time thanks!

Yeah, no wonder you're having issues. They need a fairly clear, and most importantly direct, line of sight to work, so putting em at the back really limits their effectiveness.

yea their more cav archers then skinks
run them around with their speed and shoot into the enemys clumped formations with the explody fireballs

Flanking seems overrated at times, but Its great when you're doing it, not so great when its being done to you

They're versatile, but the thing that always works is flanking with them and have them shoot in the backs. Otherwise if the enemy is sending in LARGE units you can keep them behind your infantry and focus those LARGE units.

I was doing alot better with them today with the advice. I gave them clear line of sight and used them more like cav. One of them got 200 kills which was pretty crazy, thanks for the advice :steamhappy:
